As It Was In The Days Of Noah
In 1991 a man from the Netherlands named Johan Huibers dreamt that the province he grew up in was flooded by a great storm. Johan had been a Believer for nine years and happened to be a professional carpenter and contractor. Inspired by his dream he spent years building the world's first ever true-to-size replica of Noah's Ark, which he opened to the public in July 2012. Since the full-sized ark is an actually seaworthy replica, Johan has now announced the ship will be sailed across the Atlantic Ocean to Brazil... this summer. Johan uses the ark to share the Gospel with the underprivileged.
Simultaneously, Answers in Genesis is opening its full-size replica of Noah's Ark to the public on July 7th... this summer.
Jesus prophesied that the time immediately before His return would be "as in the days of Noah" (see Matthew 24:37 and Luke 17:26). We know three things about those days:
1. There was the mixing and genetic manipulation of created things. In the case of Noah's day, angels and humans (Genesis 6:4).
2. Every inclination of the human heart was evil continually. In other words, wickedness had reached its zenith (Genesis 6:5).
3. And the earth was filled with violence (Genesis 6:11).
For the very first time since Noah's day these three conditions are repeated simulataneously - in our time, in this generation! Hybrids between created 'kinds', wickedness at its zenith, and truly unprecedented violence.
And now these two unprecedented, full-sized replicas of Noah's Ark are a double-witness this summer that Christ's coming is at hand.
