"The Big Bang was a natural event which would have happened without the help or involvement of God, he argues."
"Because there is a law such as gravity, the Universe can and will create itself from nothing,"
WHA-WHA-WHAAAT??!! ...So... because gravity exists the universe could create itself on its own? You're joking right? Please tell me you're joking. You have to know better... after all... you're such a genius and everything. An unintelligent, physical force, that only serves to force matter into contraction, is somehow able to explain how this huge, infinitely complex universe was created out of nothing? Mr. Hawking, what drugs are you taking 'cuz they must be real good!
"Spontaneous creation is the reason there is something rather than nothing, why the Universe exists, why we exist,"
Wrong again, Stephen. Spontaneous creation tells us that God not only exists, but is also omnipotent. There is no other adequate explanation. Spontaneity has no ability to explain either the incomprehensible magnitude of the universe, its irreducible complexity, or the fact that something came from nothing. Get it through your head: Nothing produces nothing. Period. End of story. Every rule of logic and rational thought tells you that. On the other hand, our existence proves that Something (or Someone) must be self-existent.
