Huge Drop in Americans' Net Worth

In 2007 the median American family was "worth" $126,000.  The median family is now worth $77,000.  The average American family has lost 40% in its monetary worth.  This is a precipitous and momentous drop equivelant to wiping out 18 years of a family's savings.
