Parallels types and shadows

The Bible is full of parallels, types and shadows.  I love when God reminds me that His is completely sovereign through these that He puts in place hundreds or thousands of years before they are fulfilled.

• David taking 5 loaves and Jesus feeding masses with 5 loaves.
• 3,000 dying at Sinai and 3,000 saved in Acts 2.
• Jesus the perfect sacrificial lamb, born at the place where the sacrificial sheep were born (Migdal Eder)
• Jesus the Bread of Life, born in the House (hem) or Bread (Bethel).
• Jesus 3 1/2 years in Egypt, 3 1/2 years of ministry at the end.  The 7 years divided.  The 7 year tribulation will be divided.  Daniel's 70th week is separated from the others.
• Priests entered the Holy of Holies, did their work and got out.  Jesus finish His work and sat down.
• The high priest had to take off his royal robes to make intercession for the sins of himself, the priests and the people. Jesus took off his robe (Phil 2) to make intercession for us.
• The high priest had the names of the 12 tribes on his shoulders and on his chest.  Jesus has our names written on his hands.
• In Genesis 3 the cherubim block the entrance.  In the Holy of Holies these cherubim are on guard.
• Before the sacrifice the veil of the temple blocked access.  After the gift the barrier is broken we have confidence to enter the most Holy place. Hebrews 10:19.
• Noah and family sealed for 7 days in the ark, is a type of the pre-trib rapture.
• Jonah's 3 days are certainly a type of Christ's entombment.
• Signal fires were lit on the tops of the mountains to announce.  Tongues of fire were placed on the heads of those in Acts 2 to announce the coming of the Spirit and the church age.

The Bible is ripe with symbolism.  These strengthen my faith.
