If the Paris Attack Had Been in Jerusalem
While I in no way want to minimize the tragedy of the recent terrorist attack in Paris, I fail to fall under the dramatic bubble of panic and solidarity that seems to have taken over social and mainstream media. Perhaps because the Paris attack is small in comparison to the death and destruction that occurs everyday in places like Iraq, Syria, Sudan, Somalia, Nigeria, and Yemen. Jerusalem endures this type of terror on a daily basis and governments and citizens around the world do not change their "profile pictures" or light up their national monuments in blue and white.
Can you imagine the headlines had the same attack occurred in Jerusalem? Let's take this story and demonstrate the bias.
It was a cold night in the refugee camps along the occupied Israeli border. Hopeless Palestinians huddle among fires they build from Jewish garbage. Over the wall, decadent Jews enjoy a rock concert when Palestinian Freedom Fighters make their move. Ten minutes later they are mercilessly gunned down by IDF forces. There were some Jewish casualties in the fire fight that occurred as the IDF stormed the concert hall.
This is a great post, Dolley, thank you. Was just thinking about the hypocrisy between everyone who rallies around France versus this ongoing third Intifada.
