Two 6.0 Earthquakes Strike Japan
Two large earthquakes, both with a magnitude of 6.0, have struck Miyako, Japan. Even though one of the quakes was shallow, which often results in more damage and loss of life, luckily there were no immediate reports of fatalities. The earthquakes occurred seven hours apart and both were followed by powerful, 5.3 magnitude aftershocks.
