God's Trump Card?
UPDATE: Please take a look at Daily Crow's take on this. It will leave you speechless.
What prophetic significance does the election of Donald Trump have? With the confirmation of even one more liberal justice to the Supreme Court, the balance of power would be altered for at least a generation and national sovereignty would have been permanently eroded. The forces of globalism would have finally had their greatest victory - bringing the world's sole superpower and evangelical stronghold under international control.
Yet Trump happened and their plans seem to have been placed on hold. Notice I say their plans and not God's plans. Has God just hit the breaks on prophecy? I would argue, and this is speculation, that in fact God has just hit the gas.
First, I would remind our readers that it appears we are uniquely in the season of Christ's return.
Second, numerous prophetic signs indicating the return of Christ have been fulfilled or are on the very cusp of final fulfillment.
Trump's election didn't change any of that. To the contrary, Trump's election, in my humble opinion, is further evidence of the pre-tribulational rapture of the Church. It's important to remember three very important things:
1. While those Christians who deny a pre-trib rapture continue waiting for a global government with antichrist at the helm, the Bible clearly says that those things cannot happen until the restrainer is removed (2 Thessalonians 2:5-12). In other words, God will allow all the pieces to fall into place (as we see happening), but antichrist can't have his day and his kingdom until God in His sovereignty allows it to happen. At some point in the very near future God is again going to interfere visibly in the affairs of man when His Son calls up the Bride.
2. Numerous passages that reference the coming of Christ infer a great sense of normalcy when it happens (Luke 17:24-36, Matthew 24:36-41, 1 Thessalonians 5:3). Life will seem to be going on as it always has and when the rapture occurs most people will be caught off guard. I would argue that had Clinton won the election, life, especially for Christians around the world, would seem even further upended: Christian persecution would increase, SCOTUS would be permanently altered to give deference to international law, western nations would be flooded with even more uncontrolled immigration, and the present crime wave and refugee crisis would reach historic proportions. And perhaps the Syrian crisis would finally trigger an armed confrontation between the United States and Russia. Instead what we see is a nationalist law and order candidate promising to fix a lot of this broken mess thus setting the stage for exactly what the Bible prophesied: a last minute sense of calm and normalcy.
3. The world is ripe for judgment (see here, here, and here). What we witnessed on November 8th was not national repentance, but already committed Christians showing up to vote. Unlike in the aftermath of 9/11 when millions of Americans across the political spectrum flooded churches to seek God, what we see post-election is a still very divided nation with lawless people rioting in the streets and a coordinated media effort to malign Christians. At the end of the day, gay marriage is still the law of the land, Roe is still not overturned, and nearly 1.5 billion children have been murdered in the womb worldwide since 1980. Christians are still being slaughtered all over the 10/40 Window and Christian persecution has actually become the law of the land in Russia and China just this past year. To think Trump will turn all this back is to assign to Trump what only Christ can and will do when He establishes His earthly kingdom.
We continue to watch the coming year with great enthusiasm. Interestingly, it is Jewish year 5777 and the new president will be exactly 70 years, 7 months, and 7 days old on Inauguration Day... God's trump card?
How ironic would it be if America's last president was named 'Trump'?

In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. - 1 Corinthians 15:52
And Trump's running mate is Pence....Trumpence -- Trumpets. A last call for repentance. God does wonderful and amazing things, and it would not surprise me in the least if through His plan He made it possible for America to elect these two specific men at just such a time as this.
ReplyDeleteNice observation! I'm trying to make heads or tails of all this:
DeleteDonald: Gaelic/Scottish "World ruler" or "Ruler of the world"
John: "Favored by Yahweh"
Trump: A musical instrument, trumpet, or trump card
Michael: Chief archangel in the Bible, prince of Israel
Richard: German "Powerful leader"
Pence: Plural of penny; homophone of "pents" - trumpets
I'm not sure how to put this all together congruently, but there are some very interesting and obvious things to note from these names:
- Christ is the coming ruler of the world
- John was the Apostle who saw and wrote Revelation
- A trumpet is the instrument summoning up believers (1 Thessalonians 4:17, 1 Corinthians 15:52)
- Michael is the archangel of Israel and mentioned in connection with the rapture (1 Thessalonians 4:16) and the tribulation (Daniel 12:1, Revelation 12:7-9)
- A powerful leader is coming
- Pence, like you said: Trumppence/trumpets
I can't remember where I saw the two names combined, but it was definitely interesting. And seeing the full names like that! I know that names and meanings are often significant, maybe not so much to us today, but they were in the Bible. And God never changes. I think God gives us more clues that we probably realize. I look forward to what He will do next!
DeletePerhaps God plans to use Trump to help in rebuilding the Third Temple...

Great observations; thankful somebody put into word the random thoughts spinning around in my head.
ReplyDeleteI sure hope Trump's election has some prophetic significance. It would be the greatest joy to hear 'Come up hither!' at the last trump, the trump of God (1 Thess 4:16)
ReplyDelete"To think Trump will turn all this back is to assign to Trump what only Christ can and will do when He establishes His earthly kingdom."
ReplyDeleteHow much do I agree with this statement. Because that is for sure: Our Yeshua will bring upon us, His Righteous everlasting Hevenly Kingdom.
First and foremost, how does no one see how Israel itself is Anti-Christ? They still don't believe in Him, and yet the U.S. is their strongest ally? the 10 kings and such are the presidents of the United States starting with Kennedy as "0", the one whose head was wounded, the beast is the u.s. the world empire is the u.n. which is also the u.s. Obama's name-lighting from a high place. "I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. trump's name is the world's great deceiver (to trump something up can also mean to make things up), pence will replace trump. pence name means - who like god will rule with money. the mother of harlots is the statue of liberty...it has mother of exiles written on her forehead!!! the strong drink that the whole world drinks...there is a latin word for it...potus, which is an acronym for president of the united states. when asked if he was saved trump was quoted as not seeing the need to be saved.
