Twin Earthquakes Strike Both Sides Of The Pacific
Today, mere hours apart, massive earthquakes struck both sides of the Pacific Ocean. The first was a 6.5 magnitude earthquake off the coast of California. The second was a 7.8 magnitude quake in the Solomon Islands, which triggered what was expected to be tsunamis of 3 to 10 feet in various places around the southwest Pacific. The quake shut down power to the capital of the Solomon Islands.
