China Launches Second Aircraft Carrier

China just launched its second aircraft carrier.  This launch coming on the heels of the Liaoning in 2012.  Aircraft carriers are widely considered to be the most powerful and influential conventional weapons on the planet - projecting a country's power into virtually any theater of war.  Only nine countries in the world have aircraft carriers and of those nine only two others have more than one - the United States with ten and Italy with two.  With a third aircraft carrier currently under construction and a fourth planned, China will soon have the second largest carrier fleet in the world.
