An Overview of Things to Come

The earth is wobbling like a top ready to spin out of control.

We are rapidly approaching the point of no return, where humanity’s actions will tip the scales of God’s wrath.  Life as we know it will come crashing to a cataclysmic halt. Christians know it, other religions know it, secular observers know it. “The Apocalypse” is almost upon us. It will be a time of intense chaos, destruction, and confusion.

Fortunately, God has not left us in the dark about what is to come. God’s prophetic tapestry is woven through like threads in both the Old and New Testaments. Close up, the intricate designs can seem confusing and even contradictory. God has intentionally designed a pattern that is complex. He leaves for us a trail of puzzle pieces, not unlike the parables Jesus told, and exactly like at His first coming. It is only through rigorously searching and praying through the Scriptures that keys emerge, pieces fit together, and the big picture is revealed.

Over the course of history, God has dealt with humanity in a few different ways. These distinct periods of time are known as Dispensations.  In the garden of Eden, God met with Adam and Eve in human form. Here, the very first prophetic word was uttered by God – “I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.” (Genesis 3:15) After the fall of humanity, God continued to speak directly to the early patriarchs. This continued through Noah and the global flood until the time of Abraham. The nations had been dispersed at the tower of Babel, and God selected one man, Abraham, to seed the nation of Israel – His nation, His people.

Israel’s purpose was to be set apart, to be a beacon of God’s light in the world and draw the nations back to Him. Israel, for the most part, failed miserably. God could rely only on Himself. Thus, in the fullness of time, God became as one of us in the form of Jesus. Jesus succeeded where Israel had failed, and set in motion the reclaiming of the nations unto God. Israel expected this to happen all at once, but the mystery was that this reclaiming would now be done through the “church” – a body of Jews and Gentiles called by God and indwelt by the Holy Spirit (Romans 11:25). The church was now set apart as God’s salt and light in the world.

The time is very quickly approaching when this mission of the church will suddenly end.

God’s timeline for humanity proceeds right on schedule. The end of this age will come abruptly to a halt with the noisy, not-so-secret rapture of the church. The dead in Christ will arise, and the invisible body of Christ will be transformed in the blink of an eye (cf 1 Thessalonians 4:14-18). Together they will be snatched away from what is coming on the earth, safely hidden in heaven (cf Isaiah 26:19-21). A parable of this can be seen in the ritual of the Jewish Wedding. We may not know the day or the hour, but there are definite clues to the season. We can watch for the signs to occur that point to this event.  You may agree or disagree with some of these signs, but what prophecy scholars agree on is that there is a convergence of signs:

  • The Fig Tree Sign - Jesus tells His disciples that when they "see the fig tree leaf out", they would know that the time of His coming is near.  Many prophecy scholars agree that this sign refers to Israel's rebirth in May 1948.
  • Israel Reborn - Regardless of whether or not the fig tree refers to Israel, Israel's rebirth as a nation after 2000 years of not being one is a flashing neon light!  The Kingdom of Heaven is near!
  • Jerusalem Recaptured - Jerusalem features heavily in end times prophecy.  The 6 Day War of 1967 was very significant prophetically!  It's possible that war fulfilled Psalm 83; alternately, the complete fulfillment of Psalm 83 may be yet future.
  • Jewish Aliyah - Along with the re-establishment of Israel as a physical/political nation, God's chosen people are foretold to return to the Promised Land.  This has been slowly but surely occurring over the last 120 years or so.  Within the last month, there have been several articles from Israel that state the majority of the world's Jewry is now (July 2018) living in Israel.  According to Jewish tradition, conditions are set for prophets to appear when at least 50% of the world's Jews are located in Israel.
  • The Third Temple - We know from the book of Daniel, the gospels, and Revelation that there will be a functioning Jewish Temple during the "70th Week of Daniel".  While the Temple has not yet been built, the plans are complete, Levite priests are trained, and Temple equipment/furniture has been made.
  • Apostasy in the Church - It seems that as we approach the time of the end, churches will fall away from preaching sound doctrine.  Instead, they will focus on a social gospel that "tickles men's ears" (tells them what they want to hear to feel good).  Sexual immorality will be tolerated.
  • Immorality in Society - Society will move further and further away from God and His laws/morals.  We see this most clearly in the last several decades through Abortion (1.5 billion abortions since 1980), Homosexuality (general worldwide acceptance in non-Muslim nations), and Human Euthanasia (legal in some nations, including Canada).
  • As in the Days of Lot - Society will be marked by violence, homosexuality, and sexual immorality.  Interestingly, the LGBTQ community has adopted the symbol of God's promise "in the days of Noah" as the symbol of their pride.
  • As in the Days of Noah - Society will be marked by violence, DNA manipulation, and sexual immorality.
  • Knowledge Will Increase - In the latter days, people will travel "to and fro" and knowledge will increase.  We are approaching a "technological tower of Babel" situation!
  • The Gospel Will Be Preached to All Nations - While there are still unreached people groups within nations, the gospel has been successfully taken to all nations around the globe.  The gospel will continue to be preached during the coming times of tribulation by the 2 Witnesses, sealed 144,000 Hebrews, and an angel from God.
  • A Great Sign in the Sun, Moon, and Stars - It appears God may be announcing the imminent rapture of the church and the nearness of His second coming through a great sign in the sun, moon, and stars described in Revelation 12:1-2.  This great sign appeared in the sky on September 23, 2017.  Interestingly, satan also seemed to think September 23 was an important date.
  • The Great Pyramid - The Great Pyramid in Egypt seems to have been specifically designed to point to the First and Second comings of Jesus Christ.
  • The Feasts of God - God has appointments on His calendar. He calls these His “moedim”, or appointed times. The next appointments on His calendar are the Fall Feasts. There is some question, however, if the late spring feast of Pentecost has fully been fulfilled…
  • "Balaamic Prophecies" - Secular society can’t help itself but advertise that the “end is near”
  • Nonspecific Signs - God may be issuing His final warnings via nonspecific signs (i.e. August 21,2017 solar eclipse, “Planet X“)

A summary of some of these signs and more can be seen in this article:  Top 20 Signs of the Rapture and Second Coming of Christ.

The Path Diverges

A great divide exists; there are two tracks that humanity will take. Those who took the narrow road will be a part of the heavenly track: the body of Christ will be in heaven for the time of “tribulation” on the earth. They will participate in the Day of Christ (judgment for rewards). Meanwhile, the Day of the Lord is the track on earth for those who were on the broad road leading to destruction.

Therefore God sends them a strong delusion, so that they may believe what is false, in order that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness. (2 Thessalonians 2:11-12)

God’s judgment will be poured out in full force on a wicked and Christ-rejecting world. However, God will not leave the world without witness. He will call forth Two Witnesses who will function similarly to the Old Testament Prophets.  Additionally, with the sealing ministry of the Holy Spirit in the church complete, the Holy Spirit will move to supernaturally seal 144,000 specially chosen Hebrews. God will use these witnesses to call forth His elect – a third of Israel along with many “gentile” followers.

Prophesied Wars

Before we go any further, there are several prophesied wars involving Israel that will occur in the future. The timing of these is broadly in “the latter years”. Several of these may occur before the rapture of the church (Nation Rising Against Nation – WW3; The Destruction of Damascus; Arab-Israeli Promised Land War). One of these may occur during or shortly after the removal of the true church from the earth (Gog and Magog War – many nations rising against Israel). These wars may blur together and occur in a short span of time.

Regardless of the exact timing, God Himself will intervene to save Israel in these wars.  As a result, Israel will want to re-institute their Temple worship of God with Old Testament-style sacrifices. The person (or ‘being’) who arises and takes credit for winning these wars won’t be God, but he will end up claiming to be. It is certain that one war will occur approximately seven years after the rapture of the church, in which this god-imposter will be destroyed (The Battle of Armageddon).

The 7-Year Tribulation Begins

With the body of Christ safely tucked away in heaven, let’s go over what’s going to happen on earth. When Jesus rose from the dead, great power was released in some type of nuclear transformation event. This triggered a great earthquake. When the dead in Christ rise, it is possible that this event will trigger similar earthquakes on a global scale - wherever the dead in Christ lie. The earthquakes will then trigger volcanic eruptions and tsunamis. The sun will be darkened and the moon appear blood red from smoke and ash in the air (I believe this is the prophetic "blood moon sign"). In a short span of time, 25% of humanity will die from famine, war/murder, disease outbreaks, and wild animals (emboldened by severe food shortages) - the 4 Horsemen of the Apocalypse.

Throughout the church age, followers of Christ have been indwelt and sealed by the Holy Spirit. When these true believers are removed from the earth, the Holy Spirit’s restraining influence over evil and the powers of darkness will be removed. At this time, a cosmic war will erupt between the holy angels and the fallen angels. Satan (the name given to the fallen spirit-being opposing God), represented as a dragon and a serpent, and his demon horde (fallen angels) will be defeated and lose their access to heaven. They will be granted authority by God to deceive humanity, for the sake of accomplishing His divine purposes. We are not told exactly what this involves but we do know that satan has been hard at work preparing for it. He knows the time is close.

The combination of the removal of living believers to heaven and the disasters of the Seven Seals will leave the world reeling. A great power vacuum will exist in the world as social and economic structures collapse under the burden of disaster. A man or being will rise to power quickly, to bring “peace” and “unity”. This man is known in the Bible as “the lawless one”, “the antichrist”, “false christ”, “false messiah”, and “the beast”. The “antichrist” will participate in ushering in a new world order. Wars will be involved as nations and leaders try to sort out a semblance of order and power.  There are several opinions as to how this might play out, but I will give my understanding here.

A New World Order

First, shortly after the rapture, it appears that either the “antichrist” or the “false prophet” will enter into a covenant with Israel. The covenant may be made for seven years (peace agreement), or it may be presented as eternal (a “new messianic covenant”). It is also possible that God reconfirms His Abrahamic covenant with Israel through supernaturally protecting them from annihilation at this point. The confirmation of this covenant, whatever it turns out to be, will start an event known as the 70th Week of Daniel.  This 70th Week pertains directly to the nation of Israel and ethnic Hebrews, and is generally known as the "7 Year Tribulation". The Third Temple will be built in Jerusalem (or Shiloh? or the city of David?) at this time.

Concurrently, the world will first be divided into four parts (“kingdoms”). Two kingdoms may be ruled by singular rulers. One kingdom will be ruled by 4 “kings”. The fourth kingdom will be ruled by 10 “kings”. In this fourth kingdom, three of these 10 kings will be quickly displaced by the man who will become the “antichrist”. This fourth kingdom, led by the antichrist, will take over the other 3 kingdoms over the next few years.  While people often talk about the antichrist ushering in a "peace treaty" and "false peace", I personally don't see the first half of the "Tribulation" as peaceful at all.  World leaders will be posturing and fighting trying to both rise to power and establish control and organization following the massive destruction of the opening of the Seals.

By the midpoint of the "Tribulation", the antichrist will have successfully achieved world rule.  This antichrist ("beast") kingdom will then be granted global rule by God for a period of 1260 days. God will oversee and allow this as part of Israel’s purification.

The “antichrist” will be supported by a "false prophet". The false prophet may identify himself “Elijah”. These two, and their entourage, will be extremely convincing and will be accompanied by all kinds of miraculous signs and wonders. They will be empowered by none other than satan – forming an “unholy trinity”.

At some point, the “antichrist” will likely identify as the Jewish messiah. He may also identify as the messiah for other religions as well, explaining that everyone had different understandings of the same thing. He may encourage Old Testament-style worship of God… at first. I believe that some of Israel (up to 2/3) will embrace this man as their anticipated messiah, here to usher in the messianic kingdom. They will believe the events that will have already transpired (wars in which they survived, the building of the Third Temple, sacrifices restarting) have fulfilled the Old Testament prophecies. They will believe that a time of peace and prosperity for Israel, the millennial kingdom, is nigh.  In reality, their time of testing is just beginning.

The First Half - God's Witnesses

Meanwhile, right after the church has been taken to heaven, God will have sent witnesses to declare the gospel. There will be two special prophets for God who will proclaim truth. They will speak out against the “antichrist” and his deception. There will also be 144,000 Hebrews who come to faith in Jesus Christ. These 144,000 will be sealed by God and protected from some of the cataclysmic events that take place.

Remember the four horsemen?  The effects of the opening of the seals will be playing out upon the earth during the first half of the "Tribulation".  Cataclysmic disasters will continue and supernatural beings will appear. There are seven specific “Trumpets of Judgment” that will take place. The first four involve death of trees and green grass, contamination of the oceans, contamination of fresh water, and dimming of the sun, moon, and stars (possibly from atmospheric contamination). These four possibly occur very shortly after the rapture of the church. Trumpet #5 involves a 5-month long torment of humanity by a demonic army, where people will seek death (suicide) but it will not be found.

The truth of the gospel will not be popular, and the Two Witnesses will be killed after 3.5 years of ministry (42 months / 1260 days) by the “antichrist”. Most on the earth will celebrate their deaths by giving gifts. This is the only celebration mentioned in the book of Revelation.  The 144,000 may also be killed around this time.  Trumpet #6 involves another demonic army that begins at some point after the 5 month torture ends. This army kills one-third of humanity over a period of time ending when the Two Witnesses of God are resurrected from the dead - 3.5 days after their deaths.

In total, over 50% of humanity will have now been killed (over 3 billion people), by the midpoint of the "Tribulation".  The "Great Tribulation" - that period of time when the antichrist is given global rule for 1260 days and is allowed to persecute and kill those who do not worship him - will have not yet begun!  The massive death tolls from war, famine, plagues, wild animals and demonic armies, will focus much of humanity's efforts on mere survival.

The Second Half - Antichrist's Rule

Near the midpoint of Daniel’s 70th week, the “antichrist” will be killed. It is likely that the he will die via a head wound.  He will miraculously rise from the dead with God's permission.  His first course of action will be to kill the Two Witnesses. At some point (likely upon their death), the “antichrist” will set himself up in the Jewish temple, proclaiming to be “god”. He will stop all sacrifices to God and desecrate the altar. This is the trigger for Jews who know their Tanakh (Old Testament) to flee to the wilderness. The warning is given both in the books of Daniel (OT – Daniel 9:27) and Matthew (NT – Matthew 24:15-21).

When Jesus came and revealed Himself to be God after 3.5 years of ministry, Israel killed Him. When the “antichrist” reveals himself to be “god” 3.5 years into Daniel's 70th Week, it appears that Israel embraces him. This is foretold by Jesus in John 5:43 – “I have come in my Father’s name, and you do not receive me. If another comes in his own name, you will receive him.”

While the “antichrist” is celebrating his victory, the two bodies of God’s witnesses will lay in the streets of Jerusalem. 3.5 days later, they will rise from the dead and God will call them up to heaven. A great earthquake will result and 7,000 people will die. This ends the 6th Trumpet judgment (the "second woe").  The 7th trumpet blows at some point after the “antichrist” declares himself to be god.

The “antichrist” will establish world rule at this time, merging religion, economy, and power. He will set up an economic system which requires taking his mark or pledging allegiance to him to be able to buy or sell. Will this mark alter DNA in some manner? An angel will warn mankind not to take this mark – this is the final warning before God out-pours the final Seven Bowls of His wrath. True salvation is still possible up until taking the mark of the beast. Choose wisely, your eternal soul is at stake!

Once the mark system has been set up, at some point the Seven Bowls, which complete God's wrath, will be out-poured. These judgments involve painful sores appearing on people who have taken the mark of the beast; the entire sea turning to blood and all sea creatures dying; all rivers and springs becoming blood; scorching by the sun; the kingdom of the beast being plunged into darkness; the Euphrates river drying up to allow humanity to assemble for a final battle against Jesus; and finally, the greatest global earthquake ever will resurface the planet, accompanied by a severe thunderstorm and 100-pound hailstones.

The Ending is Decreed, It Will Come to Pass

As the 6th Bowl of wrath is poured out, the “antichrist” will send deceiving spirits to gather the world for a war against Jesus Christ. My guess is that he will state that this is the final battle before humankind’s evolutionary transformation can be completed… but that is speculation… Once everyone is gathered, they will prepare for the Battle of Armageddon. It appears that God will provide a final escape route for those dwelling in Jerusalem via the Mount of Olives splitting, before the Battle of Armageddon ensues. The battle will occur 1,260 (or possibly 1,290) days after the “antichrist” declares himself to be god and sets up the “abomination of desolation” on the Temple altar.

The ending is decreed and it will come to pass – Jesus Christ will appear with His heavenly armies (angels and human followers who were taken at the beginning of this tribulation). It won’t be a battle though, Jesus will simply open His mouth and defeat all who are gathered by a Word. All the armies gathered against Him will be defeated in one big wallop by the sword of the Spirit – the Word of God.

The beast (“antichrist”) and the false prophet will be thrown alive into the lake of fire. All humans opposing Jesus Christ will be killed. It’s not going to be a good death – “And this shall be the plague with which the Lord will strike all the peoples that wage war against Jerusalem: their flesh will rot while they are still standing on their feet, their eyes will rot in their sockets, and their tongues will rot in their mouths. And on that day a great panic from the Lord shall fall on them, so that each will seize the hand of another, and the hand of the one will be raised against the hand of the other.“ (Zechariah 14:12-13). Satan will then be thrown into the abyss and chained for 1,000 years – the duration of Christ’s Millennial Kingdom.

This completes the Day of the Lord and the 70th week of Daniel.

The Millennial Kingdom and Eternity

Once the Battle of Armageddon is complete, humanity will be judged on whether or not they can enter the Millennial Kingdom. This is known as the "Sheep and Goats Judgement" and the separation of the "Wheat and Tares".  Believers during the "Tribulation" will not be sealed by the Holy Spirit and will be responsible for ensuring they remain in the faith until the end.  They also are required to demonstrate their faith through good works.  True believers, the "sheep" and "wheat", will be ushered into the Millennial Kingdom.  Unbelievers, or those who lost their faith, the "goats" and "tares", will be killed and sent to hell to await the Great White Throne judgment.

The true Messianic Kingdom will then be ushered in by Jesus, and will last 1,000 years. During this period of time, the Earth will be restored to near-Eden-like condition with most aspects of the curse reversed.  Longevity will be restored.  Only the "sin nature" will remain.  Remarkably, even under the direct rule of Christ, humanity will still be filled with rebellion.  A number too high to count will rise up at the end of this time period when Satan is released for a “little season”. They will gather against Jesus, yes, again, and the Last Battle will ensue. Humanity still hasn’t learned that you can’t beat God, and they will all be destroyed with no actual fighting.

This form of heaven and earth will pass away, followed by the Great White Throne Judgment.  The Great White Throne judgment will see the resurrection of all humanity from the dead to face the living God. This does not include those who participated in the “first resurrection” – all those in Christ prior to the Millennial Kingdom. Followers of Christ (from the Millennial Kingdom) will enter eternal life; those who rejected Jesus will be cast into the eternal Lake of Fire.

Once judgment is complete, Eternity ensues. Humans are eternal – our souls never die. Where your soul will spend eternity is completely up to you, but it can only be decided while in your physical body.

There is only ONE road that leads to life, and that is through Jesus Christ. Those who have not had their sin debt paid by the blood of Jesus will face God’s wrath and judgments. Please consider carefully if your heart has truly been transformed ("born again"). There is a difference between religion (including intellectual knowledge and the traditions of man), and relationship with God!   Are you CERTAIN of your Salvation, beyond a shadow of a doubt?  Do you KNOW that no matter when the rapture occurs, you will be counted worthy to escape? If not, please read The Gospel and The Five Part Gospel.

For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul? Matthew 16:26

We urge you not to receive God’s grace in vain. For he says, “In a favorable time I listened to you, and in a day of salvation I have helped you.” Behold, now is the favorable time; behold, now is the day of salvation. 2 Corinthians 6:1-2

    1. True, but the world will be destroyed in the sense that the ancient pre-flood world was destroyed.

"Then I saw 'a new heaven and a new earth,' for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea." - Rev. 21:1

    2. Reticent - The Tribulation period will reface the planet, particularly with Bowl 7, but this present form of the heavens and earth will be completely destroyed after the Millennial Kingdom.

10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a roar, and the heavenly bodies[b] will be burned up and dissolved, and the earth and the works that are done on it will be exposed.[c]

11 Since all these things are thus to be dissolved, what sort of people ought you to be in lives of holiness and godliness, 12 waiting for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be set on fire and dissolved, and the heavenly bodies will melt as they burn! 13 But according to his promise we are waiting for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells. 2 Peter 3

11 Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. From his presence earth and sky fled away, and no place was found for them. Revelation 20

      and as Gary mentioned:

Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. Revelation 21:1

  2. Great article and overview. Uscgvet on the forum just spotted another pre-trib rapture treasure trove in the Old Testament. Previously we had noticed the significance of Micah 5 (specifically v. 5 in relation to the R12 Sign), but two chapters later there is another possible allusion.

The Psalm 12 allusion also syncs up well with Micah 7. So much reading to do, so little time.

  4. Excellent Summation!!

However, I'd like to propose an amendment to the true meaning/ transliteration of Apostia in 2 Thess 2:3. It is not a spiritual 'falling away' (although it is happening) but it is the actual PHYSICAL Departure of the church.

    2. Why can't it be both? :)

The nature of God and His word is multilayered and deep. How many times do you read the same verse as a limited finite mortal and yet it seems to speak to a new understanding even years later... I mean... Look at the codes in the bible, look at the mathematical synchrony of the universe... all finger prints of an infinite God, meeting out little bits that we can chew on in our limited one track understanding.

Isn't that what the purpose of Dispensation is?

And he has a sense of humor. ;)

Man I love the depth of our God! <3

    3. @Charlie and @lwjackn, I agree with you both. I think the immediate context is the rapture, but Paul chose a word that could potentially go either way. The end of the age will be marked by both a "falling away" *and* the rapture/departure.

      Delete
    4. The meanings of spiritual falling away and the rapture are not mutually exclusive. The Bible is fraught with this sort of double entendre.

      Delete
    5. I personally believe that 2 Thess 2 is referring to the departure of believers (rapture) not a departure from the faith. Departure from the faith had been occurring already in Paul's time and his epistles keep trying to reel the churches back in to sound doctrine. I believe 2 Thess 2 is pointing to an actual event. There's a good chart floating around that shows that before the KJV in 1611, apostasia was translated as "departing First", not "falling away".

Just as Paul’s admonition to the Jews forsaking the teachings of Moses was a specific identifiable instance, Paul is describing a specific and identifiable departure that will occur before the Day of the Lord begins. Unlike the previous example, Paul does not describe what this “departure” is from. There is no mention of “the faith”, or “the teachings”, or “sound doctrine”. Thus, he must be referring to something which the Thessalonians would understand – something he previously taught them about. In 2 Thessalonians 2 apostasia would mean a departure, disappearance, or “away from” event, recognizable and at one specific point in time.

Thomas Ice had a good article on this but the link seems to be broken. I have written about the Apostasia here - https://redmoonrapture.org/2017/07/29/that-day-will-not-come-until/.

We are, however, without a doubt also seeing an increase towards unsound doctrine as well.

  5. I would like to propose another amendment to the Non-Specific Signs bullet... the 'Destroyer' mentioned in Jeremiah (i.e. Planet X/Nibiru body) is not random but a foretold thing or event.

More confirmation the Destroyer is coming for America (7/25)

    1. Yes...It's hard to separate fact from fiction regarding Planet X, but whatever it does to the planet I think we will be viewing it from our heavenly recliners. I don't think it's part of the dragon sign, but I do think if it occurs it will correlate with Seal 6 and/or Trumpets 1-4.

    2. Hi, Stephanie. And Gary. I read your sites, so know you both know...it's about the "recliner" comment. Do you really think we'll be watching Tribulation events unfold as they transpire? I've wondered about this. Since there are "no tears" in heaven, how can we possibly watch LIVE and not be filled with dread and angst, despair even, over such horrific events - especially when it involves are own loved ones who've been left behind? This is an ACTUAL QUESTION, not commentary in the form of. Also, we'll be honored guests at a wedding banquet - typically a time of merriment and joy. Again, HOW can we be expected to make merry knowing what's happening back on old terra firma? I do understand the PEACE of God (albeit from my current limited, non-transformed human perspective) and that we'll gain new understanding, knowledge, and perspective at the time, but still I wonder. Many of us have only a general overview of events in heaven during this period. How about a TIME LINE for believers with your commentary and God-given insights. Blessings to you all and thank you!

    3. Hi Jenny! I don't have any special insight into this - I was kind of making an off the cuff joke as one of the mods on Signs and Seasons (@Rohit!) is always talking about his heavenly recliner ;)

Passages that suggest we MAY watch:
      - Revelation 7 the 1/2 hour of silence - why is heaven silent? (I have some guesses but observing what is about to unfold is a common hypothesis)
      - Revelation 19 - 19 After this I heard what seemed to be the loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, crying out,

      “Hallelujah!
Salvation and glory and power belong to our God,
      2 for his judgments are true and just;
for he has judged the great prostitute
who corrupted the earth with her immorality,
and has avenged on her the blood of his servants.”

3 Once more they cried out,

      “Hallelujah!
The smoke from her goes up forever and ever.”

I think that is us rejoicing that God's judgments are just and true. So we may have watched them play out.

If we do watch, it will be as you said, with minds opened to understand - to know as we are known.

I believe the BEMA seat rewards might take up much of the 7 years. I'm not convinced the marriage supper is during the tribulation based on Revelation 19:
6 Then I heard what seemed to be the voice of a great multitude, like the roar of many waters and like the sound of mighty peals of thunder, crying out,

      “Hallelujah!
      For the Lord our God
      the Almighty reigns.
7 Let us rejoice and exult
      and give him the glory,
for the marriage of the Lamb has come,
      and his Bride has made herself ready;
8 it was granted her to clothe herself
with fine linen, bright and pure”—

for the fine linen is the righteous deeds of the saints.

9 And the angel said[a] to me, “Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.” And he said to me, “These are the true words of God.”

    5. Jenny, as I find myself so often saying and believing these days, we simply don't know and we do not understand yet. I hear your concern and imho IF we are allowed t see some of the things going on in the earth, our glorified minds will already see the end from the beginning and the stress and anguish would be removed for we would then understand the "necessity" of the difficulty to achieve the end result. I agree with Stephanie, the Marriage Supper of the Lamb comes after, as is the pattern in a Jewish wedding. Most forget the BEMA must occur prior to the wedding. Admnistratively, there is much to be done prior to our return with Jesus though it is not detailed in Revelation proper. My answer to my own heart to anything I see as problematic of how I might feel or react after the Rapture is satisfied by realizing, "My mind is not now like His mind" and WHATEVER Elohim has prepared, decided and allowed in that realm will be so much better, so much more exciting and so much satisfying than anything I can imagine - I simply Let Go and Let God. Is that a coward's answer - perhaps - but I find manifest peace in that Faith and Trust! I highly recommend it. Blessings - Sherry P. S. The last thing it means is I stop questioning, searching the Scriptures or seeking God by His Spirit to reveal more, but I don't REQUIRE an answer my human mind can comprehend.

    6. So, the "Overview of Things to Come" for Believers who've been Raptured to be with the Lord is basically: 1. The Bema Seat Judgement: rewards from Christ based on what we've done in His service. 2. The Marriage Supper of the Lamb. Jesus' first miracle was at a wedding and it seems He enjoys a good time! 3. Preparation to return with Christ during both the short-lived battle at Armageddon and then to do whatever jobs we'll have during the Millennial Kingdom.
I'm a facts person; there's no such thing as too much information. I appreciate your time and answers.

  8. THE 10 VIRGINS AND THE RAPTURE: Sometimes parables have more meanings than the most obvious. For example, 5 of the 10 virgins had prepared oil for their lamps, and the other 5 were low on oil (oil being a symbol of Holy Spirit.) Human logic says for the low 5 to walk side by side with the ready ones to the wedding, sharing the light on the path. But that was not offered there. That may tell us we are not to walk in another's light. Remember, the Israelites refused God's light, and chose to walk in Moses' light. They have floundered ever since. Is it safe to walk in a pastor's light?

Another thought from that parable is;It may be showing us that only half the Christians, (virgins) will be ready for the rapture, and half will be left behind. Some manna for thought.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I definitely agree that many Christians will be left behind, but that's only because "Christian" is just a label. There are many legalist "Christians" who trust in themselves rather than Christ. There are also many who subscribe to universalism or who deny the nature of sin. Both groups deny the Gospel.

But believers—those who believe in Jesus Christ and the Gospel—will *all* be taken to Heaven at the rapture. 100%. The Body of Christ will not be divided.

There will be a partial-rapture within Churchianity, but definitely not a partial-rapture of believers.

      Who Will Be Raptured?

The Parable of the Ten Virgins

      Delete
    2. What Gary said! There is no "partial rapture" of true believers. Just as we aren't worthy of salvation, we aren't worthy of rapture! What makes us worthy is the Blood of the Lamb and the Word of His Testimony - we who are covered by the blood of Jesus.

Those who have the "Christian" religion but are not born again, will be left behind, but neither would they go to heaven if they died today.

    3. @David, You ask a good question and I sense it comes from one who has a heart that is chasing after the LORD and seeks to honour Him.

This parable was geared toward a Jewish audience. Christ's teaching was new to them and alien to their culture. Legalism drove their prevailing thought, not loving one another.

If you have ever ministered to someone, then you are a Pastor. If you have ever been there for another in their time of need? You are a Pastor. If you have ever answered questions of faith or explained the gospel to a friend, you are a Pastor. If you have ever lead another to Christ, you are a Pastor.

@Anyone, Our first and greatest teacher is the Holy Spirit Himself. Listen intently for Him. Our textbook is the Holy Bible. Devour it. Love is our commandment. Live it.

Through a committed, genuine faith in Jesus Christ we are all given to be leaders and ministers of the same. The term *pastor* should be less a title and more an action.

All of the Law is bound-up in love as G-d is Love. (1 John 3:7-8) We are called to love one another. We are also called to do to others as we would have them do to us. We are called to love ourselves and to love others accordingly. Jesus taught us that these are "all the Law and the Prophets"...the MOST important things!

      1. (John 13:34-35)
      2. (Matthew 22:36-40)
      3. (Matthew 7:12)
      4. (Matthew 28:18-20)

Yes, wolves are in and amongst the sheep. Be on the look-out and beware of them. Beware too of fear that compels you to shun fellowship with others in lieu of imagined safety. That is a trick of the enemy to isolate you and make easy prey a weakened saint.

Be prepared to share your story (testimony) with others and point them to Christ. The lamp you lead by comes with a lifetime supply of oil. Share it!

    4. What Gary and Stephanie and Pastor Rich said! Matthew 25:3 - they took NO OIL for their lamps. They didn't run out, they didn't have any. Forget the other parallels and levels, though they exist as you mention, but on its basic level we are told these "virgins" - so they are IN the Church - had no oil - they were not sealed by the Holy Spirit - they were head knowledge only without the heart knowledge which brings Salvation thus they could not have oil, for they are not sealed. I see these folks so clearly as Laodicea - Read the letter again. Jesus speaks to them and tells them they must "buy" of Him. Rev 3:14-22 - "I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. 19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. 2 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

Notice Jesus' position - He is OUTSIDE knocking for entrance to their temple - their "heart". How do you "buy" of Jesus? How is gold purified - by fire to cause the dross to come to the surface so it can be skimmed off to leave the remaining VALUABLE COMMODITY in pure form. He is honoring their mental ascent by giving them an opportunity to buy since they've rejected the Free Gift. Unfortunately, that chance is the hard road and it will get them there, but they'll still have to come to Saving Faith, Follow the commandments & Deny the beast & his mark and then die. That's what Jesus is telling Laodicea - the head knowledge "christians". My heart has been to share this potential fate with those who profess to know Jesus and ask them if they are truly Saved. It's a hard conversation to have, but necessary. What if no one has ever pointed out the difference if just attendance and believing in the historical account of Jesus and TRUSTING IN YOUR HEART - BELIEVING. That's where the rubber meets the road. Blessings - Sherry

    5. @Sherry, that's a hugely important point you make. Despite how legalists twist Matthew 25, the passage explicitly says that the 5 unwise virgins had no oil. They didn't bring any with them. They had no jars. Matthew 25:3. The wise virgins had jars with oil.

    6. Except the 5 foolish virgins say in vs 8, “Give us some of your oil; our lamps are going out.” Therefore, they must have had some oil to start in order for their lamps to start running out.

When mountain ranges like the Alps, Andes, Rocky Mountains, Himalayas are flattened by mega earthquakes by the 7th Bowl judgement, pressurized magma chambers below volcanoes in mountain ranges become exposed, causing massive eruptions. And all the rubble and debris from collapsing mountain ranges will be spread across the adjacent lowlands. I think that the 'mountains' in the Millennial Kingdom will only be rolling hills.

  11. Hi Stephanie,
“….the body of Christ will be in heaven for the time of “tribulation” on the earth. They will participate in the Day of Christ (judgment for rewards).”

Question: If we are raptured out & rewarded, then when do the “tribulation saints” get their rewards? Those who believe and die during the 7-years.

Question: Who is the restrainer? Are you positive it’s the Holy Spirit?

First and foremost, if we who are saved by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit & He is yanked out of the 7 years tribulation, then how are the “tribulation saints” saved, since the Holy Spirit will be absent?

Are not all saved by grace through faith in the atoning blood of Israel's Sacrificed Lamb? Isn’t God omnipresent?

“Believers during the "Tribulation" will not be sealed by the Holy Spirit and will be responsible for ensuring they remain in the faith until the end.

They also are required to demonstrate their faith through good works.”
Wow! The above is an incredibly shocking statement! Firstly, we are all saved the same way. No different categories or compartmentalisation!

Question: So it’s optional then, to not be indwelt by the HS, but yet saved? Also, do you have the luxury of NOT demonstrating your faith through good works now? Not needed today? No more ‘easy believism’ during the 7 years.

    Talk about double standards.

    1. I'll interject here, but I can't speak on all of these points for Stephanie (:

"Question: If we are raptured out & rewarded, then when do the “tribulation saints” get their rewards? Those who believe and die during the 7-years."

Scripture doesn't mention rewards for Trib Saints. In fact, they all appear before the Throne *without* crowns.

"Question: Who is the restrainer? Are you positive it’s the Holy Spirit?"

The Holy Spirit is the common answer, but it would be more accurate to say the Holy Spirit-indwelt Church. The Holy Spirit is omnipresent and will not be removed from the earth. The mystical Body of Christ, which is currently restraining the secret power of lawlessness and the rise of antichrist, *will* be removed from the earth as a myriad of biblical promises attest to.

"First and foremost, if we who are saved by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit & He is yanked out of the 7 years tribulation, then how are the “tribulation saints” saved, since the Holy Spirit will be absent?"

See previous answer. It's the Holy Spirit-indwelt Church that is removed, not the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will still act in the affairs of man.

"Are not all saved by grace through faith in the atoning blood of Israel's Sacrificed Lamb? Isn’t God omnipresent?"

Yes to both questions. I think a weakness in *some* teachings on dispensationalism is the belief that once the Church is gone, then the dispensation returns to the Law. I think that's false. Salvation was never through the Law in the past and won't be in the future. It's always been through faith (see Gen. 15). King David, for instance, broke the law on several occassions and in the Psalms said his sins were "as many as the hairs on my head." Yet he was saved and a man after God's own heart because he 1. had unflinching faith in YHWH, and 2. loved YHWH.

"Wow! The above is an incredibly shocking statement! Firstly, we are all saved the same way. No different categories or compartmentalisation!"

Yes - through faith in Jesus Christ. BUT, the circumstances will be very different. The Holy Spirit did not baptize and seal people before Pentecost 32 or 33 AD. The Old Testament saints were saved like we are—through faith—but that faith had to be maintained because they were not sealed by the Holy Spirit who maintains it for them. Likewise, Trib Saints will be saved through faith alone, but, for whatever reason, if one happens to take the Mark, that faith will be gone and they will have no chance of redemption.

"Also, do you have the luxury of NOT demonstrating your faith through good works now? Not needed today?"

YES (Rom. 4:5), BUT a saving faith can't help but be demonstrated (Jas. 2:18). We are saved by faith through Christ's blood ALONE or else the Gospel is futile (Gal. 2:21; Gal. 5:4).

      "Talk about double standards."

Save your accusations. If you wan't to participate here then discuss with love, not after the manner of satan who accuses and twists words.

    2. Hi Gary - I am noticing that not all the writers for this site have the exact same view on how all the details of end times play out. I think that is a good thing as it allows for further study, prayer, and discussion. I appreciate your response about the Holy Spirit being here during tribulation to lead man to salvation and your view about faith alone in Jesus Christ being the only way during the tribulation. I am glad you highlighted those points for other pretribbers to consider.

I do have a question for you about rewards...

In your reply to Chinese Christian, you said,"Scripture doesn't mention rewards for Trib Saints. In fact, they all appear before the Throne *without* crowns."

However, when I read Revelation 11:18 it says that AFTER the 7th Trumpet has blown, "...The time has come for judging the dead, and for REWARDING your servants the prophets and your saints and those who reverence you name, both small and great - "

Therefore, based on the bible, there is rewarding that is happening after the 7th trumpet.

So, I am wondering how that verse fits into your view about rewards. Are you saying that the "Day of Christ" term that Stephanie used happens at the 7th trumpet? Or is this a different set of rewarding, and if so, who is it for?

      Thanks for your reply.

Where are the promises? Show me the verses.

Who told you that we, the church are restraining the rise of the antichrist?

The Holy Spirit might be the “common” answer, but it can still be the wrong answer! So I ask you again, who is the “restrainer”?

It’s an oxymoron to say that the restrainer is taken out of the way, yet will still be here during the tribulation. Which is which now, Gary?

"Yes to both questions. I think a weakness in *some* teachings on dispensationalism is the belief that once the Church is gone, then the dispensation returns to the Law. I think that's false. Salvation was never through the Law in the past and won't be in the future. It's always been through faith (see Gen. 15)."

Firstly, there are more than just *some* weaknesses. Dispensationalism teachings are full of holes if you care to look.

You’re right though, that Salvation was never through the law.
There aren’t two separate salvation deals.
The Bible doesn’t teach that "the Church" gets a special separate deal.
      We & Israel are one.

“The Old Testament saints were saved like we are—through faith—but that faith had to be maintained because they were not sealed by the Holy Spirit who maintains it for them. Likewise, Trib Saints will be saved through faith alone, but, for whatever reason, if one happens to take the Mark, that faith will be gone and they will have no chance of redemption.”

I’ve re-read the above & have been left scratching my head. Then i realized that you don’t make much sense at all!
The HS maintains your faith for you??!! Then how come even without the HS, the OT saints could maintain their faith successfully??!!
You said it! Not me! And yet during the tribulation, the NT saints must face this same scenario again.
Does it matter then, whether you have the HS or not?
Who is twisting words like the devil now, Gary?

Anyway, I see a lot of “you scratch my back & I, yours” on this site.

But when articles are put under scrutiny, & there are negative comments, you guys foam at the mouth.

I would appreciate it, if the author of said article responded instead.

Christians believe that they are fine just as they are. Their "ticket to heaven" is in their pocket.
This coupled with a belief in an imminent Rapture has them believing that they have all but arrived at the end of the Pilgrim pathway.
They have come to believe that the Church, as we see it today, is as good as it is going to get. But is this true?
Let us take a closer look here. Evangelicals have been told that imminently, (that is, at any time now), they could be raptured "outta here".
Holy history, (they have been told), does not await any further significant Church history. Christian believers, for the most part, believe that an awesome future call to witness may well be coming. But it will not come to them.

    4. Hi Chinese Christian! I can sense a little hostility here but I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and answer your questions.

      1. Question: If we are raptured out & rewarded, then when do the “tribulation saints” get their rewards? Those who believe and die during the 7-years.

The Tribulation Martyrs get their rewards at their resurrection from the dead - Revelation 20 - 4 Then I saw thrones, and seated on them were those to whom the authority to judge was committed. Also I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus and for the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.

And Revelation 22 - 12 “Behold, I am coming soon, bringing my recompense with me, to repay each one for what he has done.

The Tribulation Martyr's reward may only be to rule and reign with Christ in the MK, they may not receive crowns or jewels or whatever other rewards there are. Or they may qualify for the same crowns that church age believers qualify for. We aren't told.

      2. Question: Who is the restrainer? Are you positive it’s the Holy Spirit?

The Restrainer is actually the Holy-Spirit sealed body of Christ as Gary mentioned. We learn that there is a “what” that is restraining the man of lawlessness that must be removed. The phrase specifically used is “that which”, as in “that which is restraining him”. We also learn that there is a “he” that is restraining the man of lawlessness that must be removed. The word is “the one”, as in “the one restraining him”. We will talk about both the “that which” and “the one” together, because together they are restraining the man of lawlessness.

The Restrainer is both a “what”, or “that which”, and a “he”, or “the one”. If you are being intellectually honest, there is only one possible interpretation for the Restrainer: The Holy Spirit residing within the true body of Christ. The “what” is the church, the “he” is the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit’s presence on the earth through believers acts as a restraining force to lawlessness in general, as believers are salt and light to the world. As far as the man of lawlessness, we are told next that he is empowered by satan. Satan, as the anointed cherub, was the head of the angelic host before he fell. So the Restrainer must be more powerful than satan, in order to be able to hold him back until his appointed time. The only One powerful enough to do this is God (the Holy Spirit).

The presence of the body of Christ, indwelt by the Holy Spirit, is currently restraining the man of lawlessness. The Holy Spirit is restraining the full expression of the mystery of lawlessness and will do so until He is taken out of the way.

I have more about that here - https://redmoonrapture.org/2017/06/02/the-restrainer-and-the-restrained-in-2-thessalonians-2/

    5. 3. how are the “tribulation saints” saved, since the Holy Spirit will be absent?

The Holy Spirit won't be absent. His special sealing within the body of Christ will be removed. Only 144,000 specific Hebrews will have the seal of God during the Tribulation as per Revelation 7. The Holy Spirit has many other jobs other than "sealing". One is the conviction of sin, which will continue during the Tribulation. He will lead into truth, convict of sin, guide, and comfort believers in the tribulation.

      4. Isn’t God omnipresent?

Yes, hence the Holy Spirit will still be active in the tribulation period as He was in the Old Testament.

      5. Are not all saved by grace through faith in the atoning blood of Israel's Sacrificed Lamb?

Yes. Prior to the cross it was by the belief in the coming Redeemer who would do this. Subsequent to the cross it is grace through faith in the atoning blood of Jesus Christ.

      6. Question: So it’s optional then, to not be indwelt by the HS, but yet saved? Also, do you have the luxury of NOT demonstrating your faith through good works now? Not needed today? No more ‘easy believism’ during the 7 years.

I agree we are all saved the same way. And I actually agree with you that salvation will be by grace alone through faith alone in the tribulation period, and believe that it was that way in the OT too, though some would disagree. Hebrews 11 demonstrates this IMO. True salvation results in a heart change, right? We are either dead in our sins or are alive in Christ. To be alive in Christ means we are a new creation. I do not believe in "easy believism". Number one, there is no such thing as "cheap grace". Grace was incredibly costly to Christ. I also don't believe that an intellectual assent, or rote words, save. It's all about the heart. The heart, the heart, the heart... No words need to be said. A heart that repents and aligns with God - who He says we are (sinners) and who He says He is (our Savior). Only one way - Jesus.

As far as salvation in the Old Testament and the Tribulation period. It would appear that the Holy Spirit would only come upon certain individuals (the kings, prophets, judges). He dwelt in the Holy of Holies in the temple (when He was there). At Pentecost after Jesus died, the Holy Spirit came upon believers and now dwells in US as a temple. Each of us. This did not occur in the OT. Read Acts 2.

The indwelling Holy Spirit will leave as He came. (As the body of Christ-Holy Spirit bonded pair). His ministry will be similar to the OT in the tribulation. It would appear yes that they can lose their salvation. They get saved the same way, but they have to remain in the faith until the end by their own strength.

We greatly underestimate how much the Holy Spirit helps us in maintaining our faith. Dolley wrote a great article about that - https://www.unsealed.org/2017/09/some-doubted.html

Our good works come about as a result of our salvation, not the cause of it. Yes, I believe that those who are truly saved will show the fruit of that heart change, if they live long enough to do so.

Answer - How do you know they DID maintain their faith successfully? Apart from a handful of individuals, we don't know who made it to heaven or not. Moses, Elijah, David and his dead child, Hebrews 11 folk... we don't know the fate of most else.

Sorry I took so long to respond. I was having technical issues.

For they themselves report concerning us the kind of reception we had among you, and how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God, and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come. 1 Thessalonians 1:9-10 ESV

We are not destined for wrath! God has never poured out His wrath upon His righteous ones in the past, and He won’t do so in the future either. How is God going to spare us from wrath? It’s all a part of the gift of resurrection and transformation.

Second, examining the passages talking about our transformation from temporal to eternal:
Listen! I am telling you a mystery: We will not all fall asleep, but we will all be changed [allasso], in a moment, in the blink of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we will be changed. For this corruptible must be clothed with incorruptibility, and this mortal must be clothed with immortality. When this corruptible is clothed with incorruptibility, and this mortal is clothed with immortality, then the saying that is written will take place:

Death has been swallowed up in victory.
      Death, where is your victory?
      Death, where is your sting?

      1 Corinthians 15:51-55 ESV

But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself. Philippians 3:20-21 ESV

Do not marvel at this, for an hour is coming when all who are in the tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who have done good to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil to the resurrection of judgment. John 5:28-29 ESV
This transformation, or changing, occurs in the twinkling of an eye – instantaneously. The dead in Christ will be transformed – rise from the grave and be united with a resurrection body. Then, we who are alive and remain, will be transformed into our eternal bodies. Together we will all be caught up to be with the Lord.

    8. Third, the passages predicting the “harpazo” of the saints:
Just as man is appointed to die once, and after that to face judgment, so also Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many; and He will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who eagerly await Him. Hebrews 9:28 ESV

“She gave birth to a male child, one who is to rule all the nations with a rod of iron, but her child was caught up to God and to his throne” Revelation 12:5 ESV (see HERE for a thorough discussion of the “birth” and rapture connection. )

“Your heart must not be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if not, I would have told you. I am going away to prepare a place for you. If I go away and prepare a place for you, I will come back and receive you to Myself, so that where I am you may be also.” John 14:1-3 ESV (Note how Jesus will receive us unto Himself as you read the next passage)

Two men will be in the field; one will be taken [received] and the other left. Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken [received] and the other left. Matthew 24:40-41; Mark 13:34-35 ESV (Interestingly, the word used, paralambanetai, is used elsewhere to represent “received” – as in, the ones taken will be received unto the Lamb)

Fourth, passages containing the transformation, catching up, and sparing from wrath:
We do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, concerning those who are asleep, so that you will not grieve like the rest, who have no hope. Since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, in the same way God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep through Jesus. [their souls] For we say this to you by a revelation from the Lord: We who are still alive at the Lord’s coming will certainly have no advantage over those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the archangel’s voice, and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. [their souls will rejoin with an eternal resurrection body] Then we who are still alive will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air and so we will always be with the Lord. Therefore encourage one another with these words. (1 Thessalonians 4:13-17 ESV) (The trumpet in the Old Testament (shofar) was used to summon for worship or to summon to battle. To believers, this trumpet blast will mean – Come Up Here! To angels, this trumpet blast will mean prepare for battle! This is well described in Revelation 12)

As a pregnant woman about to give birth writhes and cries out in her pains, so we were before You, Lord. We became pregnant, we writhed in pain; we gave birth to wind. We have won no victories on earth, and the earth’s inhabitants have not fallen. Your dead will live; their bodies will rise. Awake and sing, you who dwell in the dust! For you will be covered with the morning dew, and the earth will bring out the departed spirits. Go, my people, enter your rooms and close your doors behind you. Hide for a little while until the wrath has passed. For look, the Lord is coming from His place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity. The earth will reveal the blood shed on it and will no longer conceal her slain. Isaiah 26:17-21 ESV

    9. Question - Christians believe that they are fine just as they are. Their "ticket to heaven" is in their pocket.
This coupled with a belief in an imminent Rapture has them believing that they have all but arrived at the end of the Pilgrim pathway.

Answer - Um, no, our belief in an imminent rapture has us preaching and teaching and discipling like never before! We press on, we run the race so as to win the prize, we can see the finish line, we drag ourselves, we work past the point of exhaustion trying to get others on the ark with us before the door closes.

Question - They have come to believe that the Church, as we see it today, is as good as it is going to get. But is this true?

Answer - Actually, no we believe the church as we see it today, will fall further and further into depravity. Unsound doctrine and sexual immorality, per the letters to the churches in Revelation 2-3 and :

Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons, through the insincerity of liars whose consciences are seared, who forbid marriage and require abstinence from foods that God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. 1 Timothy 4:1-3 ESV

For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths. 2 Timothy 4:3-4 ESV

    10. Hi Stephanie - I am sticking to the topic of rewards for this comment. As you may not know, I am a post trib believer but visit this site often for a variety of reasons. While one of the main reasons I visit is because I too eagerly await Jesus' return and this site has many watchers diligently searching for signs, one of the other reasons is to discuss eschatology.

You said, "The Tribulation Martyr's reward may only be to rule and reign with Christ in the MK, they may not receive crowns or jewels or whatever other rewards there are. Or they may qualify for the same crowns that church age believers qualify for. We aren't told."

However, in fact, we are told. 2 Timothy 4:8 reads, "Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day - and not only to me, but also to ALL who have longed for his appearing."

I would argue that the saints going through tribulation are most definitely longing for Jesus return! They will be suffering persecution and unprecedented tribulation. They will surely be longing for his appearing.

And just to clarify, I truly believe his "appearing" is the same thing as his "coming" and "revealing" from heaven:
      - Matthew 24:27-30 clearly calls Jesus' return after the tribulation the "COMING of the Son of Man" and also uses the words "will APPEAR in the sky" and "see the Son of Man COMING on the clouds."
      - 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17 also uses the words "COMING of the Lord" to describe when Jesus comes down from heaven for the resurrection/rapture and then subsequent Day of the Lord.
      - 1 Corinthians 4:5 also ties the rewards to his coming. It reads, "Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait till the Lord COMES. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of men's hearts. At that time each will receive his praise from God."
      - 2 Thessalonians 1:6-10 reads in part, "...He will pay back trouble to those who trouble you and give relief to you who are trouble...This will happen when the Lord Jesus is REVEALED from heaven..."

Finally please read Luke 14:12-14. At the end in verse 14 it reads, "Although they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous."

Therefore, based on these bible verses as well as Revelation 11:18 which says the time for rewarding happens after the 7th trumpet is blown, it is very reasonable to conclude:

      - Rewards happen at the resurrection
      - Rewards are given by Jesus when he comes/appears/revealed from heaven
      - Rewards and punishment (aka God's wrath) starts at the sounding of the 7th trumpet
      - Jesus comes at the last trumpet
      - Jesus comes/appears after the tribulation

      God Bless!

  12. Chinese Christian..There is just one resurrection for the rightous..and this will include all the ones that have gone through the tribulastion...then as in John 6:38-39-44-54...we will all be raised on the last day.

We will all see the A.C come to power...then great tribulation...then Matthew 24:29 says..."immediately after the tribulation, the sun will be darkened, the moon will not give her light, the heavens shaken...then verse 31 says His angels will gather the elect from the four winds.

Matthew 25:31-46 talks of this very same one and only resurrection...with Christ having us all before him as he separates the sheep to his right hand and the goats to his left.

The other resurrection is for the unrighteous at the white throne judgment after the millennium.

    1. Is the rapture not the first resurrection then?

Is it not a resurrection-rapture of the righteous dead & alive at the same time?

A church that departs 7 years earlier isn't exactly "the last day".

But yes, i agree that we will see the A.C. come to power & will know who he is.

As for the sheep & goat judgement, i think that is a separate judgement altogether.

Those are survivors at the end of the Great Trib. Angels will carry away the tares while the living go on into the Millennium.

      Delete
    2. Chinese Christian.... Yes, the resurrection of the dead that are righteous will immediately precede the rapture of the living righteous. Rev 20:4-5 spells it out. Verse 5 says this is the FIRST RESURRECTION,for a reason. It's not a second resurrection, or a third, but simply a FIRST RESURRECTION. So many other scriptures just do not fit with a pre trib rapture. Unfortunately, this won't be proven until we do see the A.C come to power, the abomination of desolation...and THEN great tribulation....followed by Christ coming back his FIRST time for the FIRST RESURRECTION...on the LAST day.

In my opinion, the sheep and goat parable in Matthew 25 is nothing but what it says. When the Son of man comes in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then the sheep will be resurrected/raptured on his right hand and the goats on his left...

Revelation 1:7 says .." behold , He cometh in the clouds; and EVERY eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him, and all kindreds of earth shall wail because of him.

I believe Christ will awaken the dead as Daniel 12:2 says. The righteous to everlasting life, and the unrighteous will be awakened also so as they will see Christ coming in the clouds just as Revelation 1:7 above promises. Even the lowest of life, the very I es that pierced Jesus will be awakened to see Christ.

These awakened unrighteous will stay in the abyss of outer darkness for 1000 years until the resurrection of the unjust to receive their white throne judgment after the millennium...as Rev 20:11-15 describe. They are tossed into the lake of fire in verse 14, and this is the second death to the ones that were in the second resurrection.

1Corinthians 15:18-25 was an eye opener for me a couple of months ago. Then verse 26 really got my attention. "The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death."

This bonds to Revelation 20:14 with the last enemy...death...being destroyed when it was cast into the lake of fire.

This is why the Wheat&Tares parable says in Matthew 13:30 says..gather ye together FIRST the tares, and bind them into bundles to burn them..

The wheat then gets to be gathered into its barn...tbe joyous new Jerusalem descending from heaven that Revelation 21:1-2 mention.

I agree somewhat.Say, try putting the rapture event towards the tail-end of the Great Tribulation (final 3.5 years) & pieces start falling into place much easier. And like you said, we will have to see who the AC is, IF we're still around.

"In my opinion, the sheep and goat parable in Matthew 25 is nothing but what it says. When the Son of man comes in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then the sheep will be resurrected/raptured on his right hand and the goats on his left..."

I believe that this is a different judgement, because of the day counts from AoD.

Day 1260 is Armageddon & from 1260 - 1290 are thirty days, no?

      Delete
    4. StanFoster - The first resurrection has several phases. The first phase started with Jesus and the "many saints". The second will be the resurrection and rapture of the church before the 70th Week of Daniel. The third and final will be the resurrection of the tribulation martyrs right before the Millennial Kingdom.

The elect in Matthew 24:31 are the believing remnant of Israel. At the rapture, there is no gathering by angels. We respond to the call.

The departing first must occur before the AC can be revealed.

    5. Stephanie - 1 Corinthians 15:23 only describes two phases of the resurrection. "Christ, the firstfruits; then when he comes, those who belong to him." There is no third phase and that is because Jesus only comes back one more time.

Also, please take a look at Matthew 27:50-53. It says that after Jesus cried out and gave up his spirit several things happened immediately at that moment of his death...the curtain of the temple was torn in two, the earth shook, the rocks split, the tombs of broke open and the bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life.

These holy people were raised to life, but it does not say they were resurrected. Several other people also have been raised to life after to death but not resurrected (e.g., Lazarus)...especially not BEFORE Jesus. These people were raised to life right after Jesus' death. Jesus was resurrected on the THIRD day. He is the firstfruits!

    1. Could it be possible that the Trump peace plan may be presented but rejected and some time later on, when the antichrist is made manifest that then he will confirm this agreement with or without the blessings of all of "the many". The Bible in Daniel 9 does indicate that by the use of the original language that the peace covenant will be enforced and not actually confirmed per se, which means that all sides will have to abide by it, but the leaders of the many may actually not totally agree with it. So the EU if that is where the antichrist comes from may get involved at a later date.

The Gemara (photocopied, above) in tractate Succah 29a tells us that a Blood-moon lunar eclipse is not a good sign for Israel, especially when it is seen only here in the east and not in the west as the July 27-28 lunar eclipse will be. Yet, the Gemara in tractate Taanit 26b tells us that the 15th of Av (this year, Friday, July 27, 2018) is the best day of the year for the Jewish People. What's more, Saturday, July 28, 2018 is "Shabbat Nachamu" this year, the Sabbath of consolation, when Hashem consoles His people the Shabbat following the 9th of Av.

  17. And here comes another view concerning the book of Revelation that certain to add even more confusion to the end times narrative. There are those who say the book of Revelation is not written in chronological order. Scott Clark is one of them. He claims that Revelation 6 is a vision of the second coming of Christ. The people hiding in the rocks and caves are saying "hide us from him who sits upon the throne." It is conceivable, but if this is the second coming and it's not chronological, how does one reconcile the fact that he's seen sitting upon the throne whereas the second coming in Revelation 19 he is coming in the clouds with power and great glory. How can he be sitting and in the process of coming to earth again at the same time? This gives me pause to accept that Revelation 6 is a vision of the second coming in Revelation 19. But perhaps it is ... I dunno. There are good cases to be made that Revelation is indeed chronological, but there also seemingly is a good argument that it is not. I found the below video by Scott Clark interesting, but not sure what to make of it.

    1. My friend, Perhaps you’re on to something? Can't quite get a finger on it?

Identify the parenthetical chapters that disrupt the Revelation chronological narrative.

      Narrative : 6 , 8, 9, 10, 11, 15, 16, 19 – 22

      Parenthetical : 7 12,13,14 17, 18

The general confusion is that the whole 7 years trib is God’s wrath. It isn’t.

Only the Bowls are. We are only raptured out before God pours out His wrath.

We are given specific day counts for a reason, from the AoD event.

Additional hint : The 30 mins silence in Heaven will give you the duration for the Bowls.

      Delete
    2. By saying that we're raptured out before his wrath and not any sooner is a faulty view I believe, and for good reason. We have a picture of the rapture at Revelation 4:1 immediately after the church age regardless of whether or not the chronology is disrupted in Revelation 6. That does not effect the timing of the rapture. Of that, we can be sure.

      https://endtimesdarknessdescending.wordpress.com/2018/01/14/the-imminent-return-of-christ-defending-the-doctrine-of-the-pre-tribulation-rapture/

Your thought that the whole seven years does not comprise God's wrath is somewhat misleading. The parts of it that are not God's wrath are still the opening years of judgment. Many call the first three and a half years the Lamb's wrath, or Christ wrath. 2 Thessalonians 2:2 refers to it as "the day of Christ."

"That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand." (2 Thessalonians 2:2).

While the final 3 and a half are God's wrath.

If you're advocating a rapture just before the wrath, but midway through the Tribulation after the "day of Christ" is still lacking in my humble opinion.

    4. > Park Chanwoo ... A good article. We'll be outta here before all of that for sure. Again, Revelation 4:1 cannot be simply ignored or discarded as I've stated in my own article above. I just wonder if there's any merit to what Scott Clark is saying in his video above. Scott does still advocate a pre-tribulation rapture (I think), but claims that the order of events do not transpire in the sense that we read a book or novel in the order of the chapters as far as the Tribulation judgments themselves. He claims Revelation 6 is a view of the second coming that happens in Revelation 19. He does some interesting points of comparison with Matthew 24 and such to convincingly make the point. I still hold to the view that it is chronological because of the fact that Christ can't be sitting on the throne in Revelation 6 while coming back in Revelation 19 at the same, but maybe there's something I'm not seeing here. In either case, whether it is chronological or not, the Church will still be outta here either way before any of it goes down ... thank God. Much of it is just really too monotonous to try to take the time to figure out.

    5. Chinese Christian - I have very similar views about the layout of Revelation and the parenthetical chapters. Like you, I believe there is a lot of overlay and that the sequence of events is NOT the 7 seals, the 7 trumpets, and then the 7 bowls. However, I have some minor differences of interpretation and am wondering what you think.

I have noticed that there is something parenthetical after all the "6ths"...after the 6th seal, the 6th trumpet, and even the 6th bowl. When you read Revelation, there is always a stop after the 6th with something else added in before the sequence resumes again.

Therefore, I think Chapter 10 & 11 also are parenthetical. The time of the 2 witnesses span is most (1260 days) of the 2nd half of the 7 year period. This time of Great Tribulation most likely encompasses some of the trumpets...perhaps the 5th and 6th trumpet leading up until the 7th trumpet blast (these are the 3 woes that the eagle warns about in Rev 8:13 and may also correspond to the woe that is mentioned in Rev 12:12 with the devil coming down with 3.5 years left). Therefore, I believe these chapters are parenthetical and give us more information about what is happening during this time.

It is interesting that God uses parenthetical chapters and verses like this in Revelation. I believe there is a really good reason for this, but I haven't quite made all the connections. Perhaps it has something to do with the timing of the trumpets and bowls...

For example, after the 6th seal is opened, chapter 7 rewinds back to the sealing of the 144,000 which occurs prior to start of the trumpets. We know this occurs prior to the trumpets because it says the 4 angels are told not to harm the land, sea, and trees until a seal is put on the foreheads of the 144,000...and trumpets 1 -4 all deal with events happening to the earth.

Also, Revelation 16:15 reminds us, "Behold I come like a thief" which I believe is a parenthetical verse to point us back to the beginning of the bowls. We know Jesus returns as a thief in the night on the Day of the Lord to rapture/resurrect and then pours out his wrath as described in 1 Thessalonians 4 & 5. In my opinion, God's wrath is only the bowls.

Just curious if you have any other thoughts on this.

From New England, homeschool mom of 6, youngest 5 oldest 15, married to my high school sweetheart (he's a Christ-lover also and is warming up quite a bit to all my watching and sharing with him. Praise the Lord, he's starting to see what I'm saying. I know his mind must be on safety and work all day as he's a self employed arborist, but now he likes to know what I've found out as "the latest", no more crazy wifey :-) ) We're part of a small church that totally preaches TRUTH/ scripture and loves the Lord's appearing (tho' many are afraid to talk about it with others, if you bring it up they're glad! My only real "hobby" or fun, my business, really, is studying scripture and watching! Now you've got an idea about me. I love how at this site and over at Rev12daily, how everyone is encouraged to share, but only in a Christ like way, no discouraging words... I am glad to have a place where I can read and share what I see the Lord doing, where people won't see me as crazy. :-) (I'm sorry for a copy & paste intro between here and Rev12, but it just saves me time, as we share screens between 8 of us!)

    2. Greetings and WELCOME! Super glad you're here.

"I love how at this site and over at Rev12daily, how everyone is encouraged to share, but only in a Christ like way, no discouraging words"

AGREED! Most sites are a total free-for-all. But here, by God's grace, it will be a place that builds up rather than tears down.

      Maranatha!

    4. @ Stephanie, so glad to find a fellow homeschooler here! How many in your flock? I will pray for your work in your children as you continue faithfully up on the watchman's wall!

@ Sherry, Thanks, for your kind words. It's all the Lord's work and for His Glory. He called me & my husband to this homeschooling role before we were married. Tho' we never expected to be doing it w/ so many little blessings! He has gifted me as a teacher especially in
languages and scripture. Other things are harder, but Praise the Lord for all the resources He provides us with these days!
@ Gary, thanks for your super nice welcome and all the hard work you put in here... It's really changed my life.

  20. Quoting you Yazlynn, "I've been watching this site for awhile but it saddens me how many turn on each other."

Yeah, it saddens me too but in the end we are all broken people doing broken people things. I like Kevin Sorbo's line from the movie What If,

"I divide my time between saying stupid things and doing stupid things!"

I hope your comment doesn't get deleted either and honestly? I don't know why it should be or would?!

I don't agree with every thought or idea shared here. I don't have to. But what I do believe it is imperative that EVERYONE explore G-d's word for themselves. Each of us needs to be ready to give an accounting. Ready or at least be willing to share our story (testimony).

The good news is that you are welcome here and we can share fellowship and encourage each other in these things. It's hard not having people to talk to about these things. It's hard to keep it to yourself. But I can testify to the FACT that the Holy Spirit is at work increasing knowledge. I'm experiencing that myself.

Do I believe that I will know the time and day? Not unless G-D Himself tells me! But I do believe we can know the days and season.

But with so many people praying, I cannot help but wonder if G-d's hand is being held back just a little longer? Just as in the days of Jonah, how was His hand withheld when Nineveh relented and repented? (Granted they still got it in the end) as will Babylon the Great.

May the LORD our G-d bless you in your gifting. And should he provide you a trigger that opens your eyes from these pages? May it be a blessing to you and yours that all glory goes to Him!

Glory to G-d in the highest!

    PR

  21. @Yazlynn, I appreciate some of your sentiments and I also appreciate your concern for the well-being of the Church. I have similar concerns.

My focus is the Gospel (just take a look at my latest article). I shared the Gospel last night in person. Most of what we do on social media and what's getting the most traction is the Gospel. I'm not saying that to justify myself, but to make the point that diligently watching for Christ's appearing and the fulfillment of prophecy does not necessarily cause one to be unproductive. In fact, it's often the opposite. Last year, especially, when everyone was particularly hyped up, a *lot* of people came to faith and a *lot* of those watching were 10x more productive for the Kingdom because they thought that little time left to share the Good News. They were excited.

The testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy and studying and teaching it correctly has the ability enhance and magnify sharing the Gospel and leading people to Christ.

We don't have to agree and I think that's an important point. Like you said, many tear each other down. Let's not do that. Accusations tear down. Grace builds up. We are called to encourage each other as we see the day approaching (Heb. 10:25) and to encourage each other with the promise of the rapture (1 Thess. 4:18).

About signs, blood moons, alignments, wars and rumors of wars, etc... *this is a prophecy website* We teach and watch for the fulfillment of prophecy. That's what we do and will continue to do.

You don't need to agree with everything we say, but it does help to *understand*. And one thing to understand is that we don't believe in setting dates. I believe today's blood moon could be a sign for several reasons, but it's just a sign.

To understand us better I would encourage you to take a look at these two articles:

No One Knows The Day Or Hour

God is Sovereign - There's NO COINCIDENCE - That would necessarily include today's blood moon

Blessings to you my friend. Btw, there's no reason to fear your comment being deleted so long as you follow the rules.

  22. I know that many believe that the seals and trumpets compose the first half of the tribulation and the bowls comprise the second half of the tribulation. Unfortunately, that does not coincide well at all with scripture. If scripture is to be taken literally, and I believe it should be as do most who read this website, the reign of Christ begins at the sounding of the seventh trumpet.
The seventh trumpet sounds (Rev. 11:15-17) and the kingdom of this world (i.e. the antichrist's world kingdom) has become the kingdom of our Lord and He has begun to reign. This is a perfect fulfillment of Daniel Chapter 2 when the stone, not cut from human hands representing Christ's kingdom, crushes the feet of the statue, representing the antichrist's kingdom, and all the world kingdoms come crashing down.
The antichrist's kingdom cannot start at the same time as the kingdom of Christ with the sounding of the 7th trumpet. Moreover, the first bowl judgment brings about sores and boils upon those who have received the mark. If the antichrist's reign were just starting, the mark of the beast system would receive very few takers if people immediately broke out in sores and boils.
Let me just ask people to consider restructuring their timeline of the tribulation with the reign of Christ, literally the Millennial reign of Christ, beginning at the seventh trumpet and before the bowl judgments. It gives a new perspective on exactly what transpires with the bowl judgments.
Remember in the midst of the 70th week, probably about 1290 days before the end according to Daniel 12, the antichrist breaks the covenant, defiles the temple, successfully attacks Jerusalem, and takes many survivors captive into the surrounding nations. The faithful fled to the wilderness already as they gave heed to Jesus' warnings in Matthew 24 et al. Ezekiel 20:33-34 says the means that God brings His captives back to Israel (to be King over them) is with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm and wrath poured out. Now read Revelation 16:1 again. We call the final seven components of God's wrath "bowls" because that is the container in which they are transported. Scripture calls them plagues (Rev. 15:1) and they are the final outpouring of God's wrath on earth. What if the seven plagues of Revelation 16 are the means by which God brings the surviving, captive Jewish remnant (not the faithful who fled and are being divinely protected) out of captivity from the nations around Israel? I know, sounds crazy, right?
I am sure many have noticed the similarities between the plagues of Revelation 16 and the plagues of Exodus. The plagues of Exodus were meant to bring the Jews out of captivity. I believe that is exactly what the plagues will do as well.
Jeremiah 23:1-8 speaks of a future regathering of Israel when the Lord Himself will reign over them.

“Therefore behold, the days are coming,” declares the LORD, “when they will no longer say, ‘As the LORD lives, who brought up the sons of Israel from the land of Egypt,’
but, ‘As the LORD lives, who brought up and led back the descendants of the household of Israel from the north land and from all the countries where I had driven them.’ Then they will live on their own soil.” Jeremiah 23:7-8

The north land is representative of the antichrist's empire (King of the North) from which Christ will bring back the captive Jews to Israel which sets up the final confrontation between the armies of the world against Christ in what we refer to as Armageddon.
I would suggest thinking of the possibility of the seals comprising the first 1230 days, the trumpets and the reign of antichrist for the next 1260 days, and the final bowl judgments playing out in very rapid fashion in less than 30 days. Trust me, I know that thinking of the bowl judgments occurring AFTER the reign of Christ begins is contrary to all that most have espoused in prophecy books. I don't think it is contrary to scripture.
