The Feasts of the LORD: God's Appointed Times

God set appointed times on His calendar from the beginning of creation.  He penned these in as sure as His finger traced the Law on tablets of stone.  They are important scheduled “meetings” for God and humanity - the divine redemptive encounters!

Genesis 1:14 declares: “And God said, ‘Let there be lights in the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years’”

In our day, we have the benefit of the completed Word of God to study His plan of redemption.  It has not always been so.  If you are familiar with the concept of dispensations, you are aware that God’s dealings with humanity can be broadly separated into “ages”.  It’s not a perfect model, but it greatly helps us grasp how God progressively has revealed Himself to people.  One of the ways in which God prophetically revealed His “big picture” plan is through the Feasts of the Lord.  Approximately 4000 years ago, God commanded His people to gather in sacred assembly for very specific celebrations - His Feasts.

The Lord spoke to Moses, saying,  “Speak to the people of Israel and say to them, These are the appointed feasts of the Lord that you shall proclaim as holy convocations; they are my appointed feasts.  (Leviticus 23:1-2)

I want you to particularly note that these are appointed feasts of the Lord, and as such, they transcend Israel. While they were initially given to Israel for observation, they are just as applicable to the church today.  “The Church?” you ask.  Many have grown up believing that the “Jewish Feasts” have nothing to do with the New Testament church.  A few have grown up trying to “take back the feasts” and celebrate them, while rediscovering Christianity’s “Hebrew Roots”.  Some have never heard of the Feasts at all.  There are, however, a growing number who are interested in what the Feasts of the Lord have to say prophetically.  You see, a number of them are unfulfilled - but their consummation is almost upon us!

A picture is worth a thousand words, so they say, and that is perhaps why God commanded a yearly remembrance of each of His holy convocations.  The Hebrew word for “sacred assembly” (or “holy convocation”) is miqra, which carries the meaning of a “dress rehearsal”.  Every time these festivals are celebrated, it is a visual and spiritual aid to remind humanity of the prophetic plan of God.

Prior to each feast’s fulfillment, it points forwards to Christ.  During each feast’s fulfillment, it points directly at Christ.  Subsequent to each feast’s fulfillment, it points backwards to Christ. This is why some of these feasts will also be celebrated in the Millennial Kingdom.

Dr. Richard Booker, in his book “Celebrating Jesus in the Biblical Feasts”, gives a great explanation for these visual and tactile reminders:

In the Bible, God often used visual aids as object lessons to teach us spiritual truths that He wanted us to understand.  God gave these pictures in the Hebrew Bible in the form of the various religious laws and rituals that the Jews were to observe.  As the Jews practiced these laws and rituals, they would learn spiritual truths concerning their relationship with God through their physical senses.  But just as child’s blocks are not the real alphabet, neither were these physical pictures complete in themselves.  They were important, but they were only pictures.  After centuries of looking at the pictures, the time came when the Jews were to enter into the spiritual reality of these visual aids.   The transition from the physical to the spiritual was provided for them through Jesus of Nazareth, the Jewish Messiah and Savior of the world.  While the Hebrew Scriptures (Old Testament) provide the pictures, the New Testament provided the person.  This picture-to-person connection is what Jesus was referring to in Matthew 5:17-18 when He said, “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets.  I did not come to destroy but to fulfill.  For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.”  Because the common western understanding of fulfill means “done away with”, Christians have believed that Jesus meant the pictures pointing to Him were no longer needed.  This is not what Jesus meant.  To Jewish rabbis in the time of Jesus, the word that is translated into English as fulfilled meant the true or correct interpretation of Scripture, while the word destroy meant to give a false or incorrect interpretation.  Jesus was telling them that He did not come to do away with or destroy (lead them astray by false teachings) the Hebrew Scriptures.  Instead, He was the human embodiment of their true meaning and spiritual reality.  (Celebrating Jesus in the Biblical Feasts: Dr. Richard Booker; p14-16)

I hope you are starting to see that God has given us many object lessons to focus on what He has done, what He is doing, and what He will do for us!

Holy, Holy, Holy, is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come (Revelation 4:8)

Feasts of the Lord - An Overview

Before I attempt to give an overview of the Lord’s Feasts, I want to humbly state that I am no expert in this area of study.  I believe they provide critical pieces in the end times prophecy puzzle, but I feel like I still only have a surface grasp of the depths these Feasts have to offer to the Christ-follower.  So much of God’s nature and character is displayed through them that I regret I am not able to do them more justice.  There are better resources out there if you want to learn how to celebrate these, or if you want to know more of the history behind them.  One free resource I have found particularly helpful in this regard is the website “Hebrew 4 Christians“.  I would direct you there as a starting point for more in-depth study!  In the meantime, I will do the best I can to communicate what I have learned so far regarding these special holy-days.  In particular, I will be unpacking the feast of Pentecost over the coming weeks.  But first, an overview!

God ordained one weekly and seven yearly appointed times on His prophetic calendar.  Some of these appointed times have been fulfilled; others await fulfillment.

These seven appointed times are collectively called the “mo’edim” and are detailed in Exodus 12-13, Leviticus 23, Numbers 28-29 and Deuteronomy 16.  Together, they represent the entire redemptive plan of God from Christ’s death through His millennial rule.

You are likely most familiar with the three spring feasts - Unleavened Bread, Passover, and Firstfruits.  Unleavened Bread is the umbrella feast, and Passover (death and burial of Christ) and Firstfruits (resurrection of Christ) fall within it.  The late spring feast is called Pentecost (Feast of Weeks / Shavuot).  Interestingly, it stands alone...  The fall feasts include the Feast of Trumpets, the Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur), and the Feast of Booths (Tabernacles).  The fall feasts do not overlap with each other as the spring feasts do.  Interestingly, the 10 days between the feasts of Trumpets and Atonement are known as the “days of awe” - which is also worth studying!

While the observation of these feasts is not commanded in the New Testament, it benefits believers greatly to have an understanding of how Jesus has fulfilled and how He will fulfill these prophetic appointments.

Therefore let no one pass judgment on you in questions of food and drink, or with regard to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath.  These are a shadow of the things to come, but the substance belongs to Christ. (Colossians 2:16-17)

Let’s look at these appointed times in a little more detail.

The Sabbath

“Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day is a Sabbath of solemn rest, a holy convocation. You shall do no work. It is a Sabbath to the Lord in all your dwelling places.” (Lev 23:3)

The Sabbath is a beautiful summary of our relationship with God.  On the seventh day of creation,  His labors finished, God walked in the garden with Adam and Eve in fellowship.  This fellowship is so important that God ordained the seventh day to be a “Sabbath”.  This day of solemn rest, kept holy to the Lord, is a covenant reminder to Israel throughout its generations (forever).  There are few recorded “rules” for Sabbath observation in scripture, other than it is to be a day of rest from regular labors.  It seems the Jews added many traditions on to this day, which might have been beneficial in a cultural sense, but were not required by God.

I want to take a moment to discuss Sabbath observation in light of the new covenant we have in Christ.  First of all, the Sabbath was, and is, and always will be, “Saturday”.  With that said, remember our verse above - let no one pass judgment on you regarding the Sabbath?  We are not required to “sabbath-keep”.  If we choose to honor the day - we do it for the Lord.  If we do not choose to honor the day, but regard each day alike - we do so for the Lord.

One person esteems one day as better than another, while another esteems all days alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind.  The one who observes the day, observes it in honor of the Lord... So then each of us will give an account of himself to God.  Therefore let us not pass judgment on one another any longer, but rather decide never to put a stumbling block or hindrance in the way of a brother...  The faith that you have, keep between yourself and God. Blessed is the one who has no reason to pass judgment on himself for what he approves. (Romans 14:5-6,12-13,22)

We are free under grace to worship any day, and every day.  We are to continually present our bodies as a living and holy sacrifice – this is to be our spiritual act of worship (Rom 12:1).

While the Sabbath is obviously a tangible reminder of creation, more significantly, the Sabbath is a reminder of the importance of relationship with God.  We have many opportunities to focus on daily living in this world.  God entices us to take a break, distinct from all other days, to focus on our spiritual health.  On it, we are invited to cast aside the lures and labors of the world.  How fortunate we are to be able to celebrate the shadow and the substance – which still yet points ahead to our eternal rest in Him!  Because of Jesus’ finished work of salvation through the cross, we who believe are no longer under the burden of the letter of the Law.  What an amazing way to celebrate the Sabbath each week, if we choose to!

Hebrews 4:9-10 states, “So there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God. For the one who has entered His rest has himself also rested from his works, as God did from His.”

Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  (Matthew 11:28-29)

For those who are considering the benefits of sabbath-keeping, remember that the Sabbath was made for man, because we have such a tendency to forget God (Mark 2:27).  It’s not because He forgets about us.   Think of it kind of like a “weekly date night” with your spouse.  Alternately, it is like a weekly “Father’s Day”.   It is a time that is to be joyously “set apart” for the One you love.

Shadow Fulfillment - The seventh day of creation when God “rested” is the basis for the Sabbath.

Shadow Fulfillment #2 - Jesus’ death and resurrection - the substance is found in Christ.

Fulfillment - Future, when we enter into “eternal rest” with Christ.  For most believers, this is at the moment of death.  For some believers, this will be at the rapture event.  It seems the Sabbath rest will also be fulfilled through the seventh “1000-year Day” - six “1000-year Days” of human government followed by a “1000-year Day” of Christ’s rule (the Millennial Kingdom).

The Yearly Feasts

The yearly Feasts are grouped into 2 seasons – Spring / Late Spring, and Fall (there are no summer or winter feasts).  Three times a year, male Israelites were required to come to the Temple in Jerusalem during these feast seasons.  We will examine them through Leviticus 23, but I recommend reading all the relevant passages in your personal study.

The Spring Feasts – Jesus’ Death and Resurrection (First Coming)

“These are the appointed feasts of the Lord, the holy convocations, which you shall proclaim at the time appointed for them.  In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at twilight, is the Lord‘s Passover.  And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the Feast of Unleavened Bread to the Lord; for seven days you shall eat unleavened bread.  On the first day you shall have a holy convocation; you shall not do any ordinary work.  But you shall present a food offering to the Lord for seven days. On the seventh day is a holy convocation; you shall not do any ordinary work.”

And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,  “Speak to the people of Israel and say to them, When you come into the land that I give you and reap its harvest, you shall bring the sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest to the priest,  and he shall wave the sheaf before the Lord, so that you may be accepted. On the day after the Sabbath the priest shall wave it.  And on the day when you wave the sheaf, you shall offer a male lamb a year old without blemish as a burnt offering to the Lord.  And the grain offering with it shall be two tenths of an ephah of fine flour mixed with oil, a food offering to the Lord with a pleasing aroma, and the drink offering with it shall be of wine, a fourth of a hin.  And you shall eat neither bread nor grain parched or fresh until this same day, until you have brought the offering of your God: it is a statute forever throughout your generations in all your dwellings.”  (Leviticus 23:4-14)

The Spring Feasts – Passover, Unleavened Bread, and Firstfruits – point to the redemption we have through Jesus’ death and resurrection at His first coming.  The pilgrimage required of Israelite males for this season is Passover/Unleavened Bread.

Passover – Nisan 14

Shadow Fulfillment –  Passover finds its shadow fulfillment in the 10th Plague of Egypt, where the Israelites who placed the blood of the lamb on their doorposts were literally passed over by the angel of death.

Fulfillment – Jesus Christ fulfilled the feast of Passover through His death on the cross.  Jesus - the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world (John 1:29).

Unleavened Bread – Nisan 15-21

Shadow Fulfillment – Unleavened bread was shadow fulfilled in the Israelites’ Exodus from Egypt, where they fled into the wilderness in such haste they couldn’t rise their bread.

Fulfillment – Jesus fulfilled the feast of Unleavened Bread through His burial – i.e., the days Jesus spent in the grave.  The three days and three nights in the grave also completely fulfilled the Sign of Jonah (read in Jesus’ own words - Matthew 12:38-42; Mark 8:12).

Firstfruits – Day after the Weekly Sabbath following Passover (i.e., Sunday)

Shadow Fulfillment – While Israel *could have* shadow fulfilled this feast within a few days of Passover, it was delayed by their disobedience.  Offering of the firstfruits of the land came 40 years later, after their period of wandering was complete.

Fulfillment – Jesus fulfilled Firstfruits through His resurrection from the dead.  “But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.” (1 Corinthians 15:20)  Very important to note is that “many saints” rose with Him as part of this firstfruits wave offering.   “The tombs also were opened. And many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised, and coming out of the tombs after his resurrection they went into the holy city and appeared to many.” (Matthew 27:52-53).  We know this was a resurrection into eternal bodies, not back to mortality, because there is no recorded death of “many saints” within a 3-4 day period of Jesus’ death.  All resurrections back to mortality occurred within a 3-4 day time period in scripture (with Lazarus being the longest).

**Please pay attention to the fact that there is a resurrection from the dead and transformation into eternal bodies as part of this feast.  This “harvest” of the dead plays into the fulfillment of each group of feasts.**

The 3 Spring Feasts have clearly been fulfilled directly by Jesus Christ.

The Late Spring Feast – The Holy Spirit

You shall count seven full weeks from the day after the Sabbath, from the day that you brought the sheaf of the wave offering.  You shall count fifty days to the day after the seventh Sabbath. Then you shall present a grain offering of new grain to the Lord.  You shall bring from your dwelling places two loaves of bread to be waved, made of two tenths of an ephah. They shall be of fine flour, and they shall be baked with leaven, as firstfruits to the Lord.  And you shall present with the bread seven lambs a year old without blemish, and one bull from the herd and two rams. They shall be a burnt offering to the Lord, with their grain offering and their drink offerings, a food offering with a pleasing aroma to the Lord.  And you shall offer one male goat for a sin offering, and two male lambs a year old as a sacrifice of peace offerings.  And the priest shall wave them with the bread of the firstfruits as a wave offering before the Lord, with the two lambs. They shall be holy to the Lord for the priest.  And you shall make a proclamation on the same day. You shall hold a holy convocation. You shall not do any ordinary work. It is a statute forever in all your dwelling places throughout your generations.

And when you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not reap your field right up to its edge, nor shall you gather the gleanings after your harvest. You shall leave them for the poor and for the sojourner: I am the Lord your God.
(Leviticus 23:15-22)

The late spring feast, called Shavuot or the “Feast of Weeks” in the Old Testament, and Pentecost in the New Testament, stands alone.  The Israelite males were required to come to Jerusalem for this appointed time.  Curiously, this feast is found in between the triad of (early) spring feasts and the triad of fall feasts.  It is almost as if it is a dash, or a parenthesis... One could say, a mystery!  Israelite males were required to make a pilgrimage to Jerusalem for this feast.

Shavuot / Pentecost – 7 Full Weeks from the Day After the Weekly Sabbath Following Passover (i.e., 7 full weeks from Firstfruits, a Sunday)

Shadow Fulfillment – The Shadow fulfillment of Shavuot/Pentecost was the giving of the Torah (law) at Sinai.  It marked the “birth date” of the dispensation of Law, and involved great displays of God’s power through thunderings, lightning, and His reverberating voice.

(Shadow?) Fulfillment – The (shadow?) fulfillment of Pentecost was the giving of the Spirit of the Law to the followers of Christ.  Pentecost marks the “birth date” of the dispensation of Grace, and involved great displays of God’s power through fire and a mighty rushing wind.  From this point onward, the Holy Spirit dwells within and seals the body of Christ for the day of redemption  (Ephesians 4:30).

When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place.  And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting.  And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested on each one of them.  And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance. (Acts 2:1-4)

In Him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory.  (Ephesians 1:13-14)

It is interesting that God waited 50 days after Jesus’ resurrection (10 days after His ascension) to send the Holy Spirit, is it not?  I would suggest He was waiting for the appointed time.  He is never early; He is never late.

I want you to note how Pentecost/Shavuot seems to introduce new dispensations – first, the Dispensation of Law (Mosaic covenant), then the Dispensation of Grace (Spirit of the Law).  The question is - Will it also introduce the interim dispensation of wrath (the Day of the Lord, commonly called the “Tribulation”, which seems to involve both Law and Grace)?

It can’t, you say.  This feast has already been fulfilled, you say.  Has it though?  We noted above that the shadow always points to the substance –  Jesus Christ.  The Holy Spirit is certainly God, but He is not the Person of Jesus Christ.  The Bible seems to indicate that it was the Father who sent the Holy Spirit - “And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you.”  (John 14:16-17)  And then look what Jesus says next - “I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.”  (John 14:18)

(Fulfillment - Rapture?) - Could it be that Jesus personally snatching His church will be the true fulfillment of this Feast day?  I cannot say I have a prophetic answer for this, but this interpretation is worth considering. We know that it is Christ Himself who will call us home - “For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. Therefore encourage one another with these words.”  (1 Thessalonians 4:16-18)

The Fall Feasts – The Second Coming of Jesus Christ and Millennial Rule

The Fall Feasts – Trumpets, Atonement, and Tabernacles – point to the future completion of God’s redemptive program at His second coming.  Their fulfillment is clearly future.  These feasts are sequential; they do not overlap as the triad of early spring feasts do.  Thus, we will look at their scripture passages separately.

Yom Teru’ah (Feast of Trumpets) – Tishrei 1

And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,  “Speak to the people of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you shall observe a day of solemn rest, a memorial proclaimed with blast of trumpets, a holy convocation.  You shall not do any ordinary work, and you shall present a food offering to the Lord.” (Leviticus 23:23-25)

Shadow Fulfillment – Will there be a shadow fulfillment of the feast of trumpets?  Was there one?  Some of us in the watching community think that the Revelation 12:1-2 sign of September 23, 2017 might have triggered the midnight cry - “Here is the bridegroom!  Come out to meet Him!”  As Kieland Edmonds writes,

It circulated the world. It made headlines. Everyone knows about it. The rumours reached the ears of every church, addressed by almost every pastor I know of. The sign became the subject of a documentary for DIRECTV called The Sign. God made sure the alarm was heard by all. Loud and clear. On Yom Teruah, the great shout of warning signified by its emblematic shofars was an official heavenly announcement of the coming rapture. It was like a loud message: “Here is the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!” (Source)

Whatever you believe about this sign, it resulted in a collective cry that went up from the watchmen around the world - Jesus is coming!  Get ready!  I am not sure that it would be considered a shadow fulfillment, but I place it here for your consideration.

Fulfillment – The Feast of Trumpets awaits final fulfillment.  Some believe it will be fulfilled at the Rapture of the Church (being one of the feasts that “no one knows the day or hour”).  Others believe it will be fulfilled at the Second Coming – perhaps when Jesus’ feet touch down on the Mount of Olives (Zechariah 14); or when Jesus appears mounted on His white horse as warrior-King (Revelation 19).  These are all valid possibilities.

Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement) – Tishrei 10

And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, “Now on the tenth day of this seventh month is the Day of Atonement. It shall be for you a time of holy convocation, and you shall afflict yourselves and present a food offering to the Lord.  And you shall not do any work on that very day, for it is a Day of Atonement, to make atonement for you before the Lord your God.  For whoever is not afflicted on that very day shall be cut off from his people.  And whoever does any work on that very day, that person I will destroy from among his people. You shall not do any work. It is a statute forever throughout your generations in all your dwelling places.  It shall be to you a Sabbath of solemn rest, and you shall afflict yourselves. On the ninth day of the month beginning at evening, from evening to evening shall you keep your Sabbath.”  (Leviticus 23:26-32)

Shadow Fulfillment –  Will there be a shadow fulfillment of Yom Kippur?  This feast is yet unfulfilled.  I am unsure; however, it is possible that the Time of Jacob’s Trouble may start on a Yom Kippur and also end on one.  This would be possible if the earth was rocked back onto its 360-day-year orbit, as the day counts in Revlation and Daniel seem to suggest.  (Earthquake resurrection/rapture?  Planet X system?  Nuclear event?  Pole shift?)

Fulfillment –  Jesus Christ will fulfill the Day of Atonement at His second coming, detailed in the seventh bowl judgment.  He will wipe out the armies gathered against Him at Armageddon (see Revelation 19), then commence with the separation of sheep and goats, wheat and tares.

Feast of Booths (Tabernacles) – Tishrei 15-22

And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,  “Speak to the people of Israel, saying, On the fifteenth day of this seventh month and for seven days is the Feast of Booths to the Lord.  On the first day shall be a holy convocation; you shall not do any ordinary work. For seven days you shall present food offerings to the Lord. On the eighth day you shall hold a holy convocation and present a food offering to the Lord. It is a solemn assembly; you shall not do any ordinary work.

“These are the appointed feasts of the Lord, which you shall proclaim as times of holy convocation, for presenting to the Lord food offerings, burnt offerings and grain offerings, sacrifices and drink offerings, each on its proper day,  besides the Lord‘s Sabbaths and besides your gifts and besides all your vow offerings and besides all your freewill offerings, which you give to the Lord.

“On the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when you have gathered in the produce of the land, you shall celebrate the feast of the Lord seven days. On the first day shall be a solemn rest, and on the eighth day shall be a solemn rest.  And you shall take on the first day the fruit of splendid trees, branches of palm trees and boughs of leafy trees and willows of the brook, and you shall rejoice before the Lord your God seven days.  You shall celebrate it as a feast to the Lord for seven days in the year. It is a statute forever throughout your generations; you shall celebrate it in the seventh month.  You shall dwell in booths for seven days. All native Israelites shall dwell in booths,  that your generations may know that I made the people of Israel dwell in booths when I brought them out of the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.”

Thus Moses declared to the people of Israel the appointed feasts of the Lord. (Levicitus 23:33-44)

Shadow Fulfillment – I would suggest that Jesus coming to earth and dwelling among us was a shadow fulfillment of this feast.  “The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the one and only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.”  (John 1:14)  I would also suggest that the Holy Spirit indwelling His true church in this age of grace is also a shadow fulfillment of tabernacles -  For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will dwell with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be My people.” (2 Corinthians 6:16)

Fulfillment – The feast of Tabernacles will be truly fulfilled by the Millennial Kingdom rule of Christ.  “My dwelling place will be with them; I will be their God, and they will be My people.” (Ezekiel 27:37)

I saw in the night visions, and behold, with the clouds of heaven there came one like a son of man, and he came to the Ancient of Days and was presented before him. And to him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom, that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve him; his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom one that shall not be destroyed. (Daniel 7:13-14)

“I will rejoice in Jerusalem and be glad in my people; no more shall be heard in it the sound of weeping and the cry of distress. No more shall there be in it an infant who lives but a few days, or an old man who does not fill out his days, for the young man shall die a hundred years old, and the sinner a hundred years old shall be accursed. They shall build houses and inhabit them; they shall plant vineyards and eat their fruit. They shall not build and another inhabit; they shall not plant and another eat; for like the days of a tree shall the days of my people be, and my chosen shall long enjoy the work of their hands. They shall not labor in vain or bear children for calamity, for they shall be the offspring of the blessed of the Lord, and their descendants with them. Before they call I will answer;  while they are yet speaking I will hear. The wolf and the lamb shall graze together; the lion shall eat straw like the ox, and dust shall be the serpent’s food. They shall not hurt or destroy in all my holy mountain,” says the Lord.  (Isaiah 65:19-25)

Summary of the Feasts of the Lord

The early spring feasts (Passover, Unleavened Bread, Firstfruits) were fulfilled in order, all in the same year, through the death, burial, and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.  When we consider a harvest model, Jesus and the “many saints” that were resurrected with Him, were the “barley harvest”.  Notably, the barley ripeness is what determines whether or not a new year can begin or if a “leap month” (Adar2) needs to be added to the calendar.  This comes into play when we calculate the date of the late spring feast - Pentecost.

Pentecost experienced at least a partial fulfillment in the same year the three spring feasts were fulfilled.  50 days after Firstfruits, or 10 days after Jesus’ ascension, the Holy Spirit came down upon believers.  He has been indwelling and sealing believers ever since, until the day of their redemption - death for most; rapture for some.  Will the Holy Spirit leave (rapture) on the same day He came down (Pentecost)?  Time will tell.  (Note, since the Holy Spirit is God, He is omnipresent.  His “coming” and “going” describes the changes in His ministry - it would seem that His ministry during the Time of Jacob’s Trouble will be similar to how it was in the Old Testament.)  Pentecost marks the time of the wheat harvest in Israel.  When we consider this harvest model, will the “wheat harvest” be represented by the resurrection and rapture of the church?

The fall feasts (Trumpets, Atonement, Tabernacles) face a future fulfillment.  Will they be fulfilled in order, all in the same year, through the Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ - following the “type” of the 3 early spring feasts?  In the harvest model, are these the “gleanings” - the tribulation martyrs resurrected per Revelation 20?

The feasts of the Lord, when considered together, give a beautiful visual promise to humanity as if Jesus is saying “I will redeem you!  I am the Lord who saves!”

...being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.  (Philippians 1:6)

Even so, Come, Lord Jesus.

  1. There is a website called El Shaddai Ministries, Mark Blitz that has lots of information on The Feasts of the Lord. He has DVD's and study guides to learn about The Feasts.

  2. Jack Langford's book & Gary Stearman's articles are excellent in depth studies for a Pentecostal Rapture when the church is born & departs on the anniversary of its birth. Gary nailed the feast events and here is another tidbit regarding Trumpets. It can be argued Jesus was born on Trumpets when calculating factual dates for Elizabeth bearing son, John. If that is true, then his 2nd coming would indeed be an apt anniversary.

    1. I highly recommend Jack Langford's books. They may be purchased through Prophecy Watchers website.

      Scripture gives us,

26 In the sixth month the angel
Gabriel was sent from God to a
      city of Galilee named Nazareth,

      27 to a virgin betrothed to a
man whose name was Joseph, of
the house of David. And the
      virgin's name was Mary.

      (Luke 1:26-27 ESV)

The sixth month is a reference to the Spiritual calendar or what the civil calendar calls Elul. Many, myself included, believe that Christ was conceived during Rosh Chodesh (new moon) over M6D30 or we Gentiles call Wednesday, September 11, 0003 BC. The following day would be 1 Tishri or M7D1 -- the time when the first sighting of the moon would usher in the holy day Yom Teruah (Day of Shouting/Feast of Trumpets).

Interestingly, as the FoT begins when the new moon is confirmed through visual observation -- it is known as the day and hour we do not know.

Track nine months after this time to June 17, 0002 BC and you'll find the Bethlehem Star (Jupiter and Venus in conjunction) and Southern Cross (Crux). Eight days later is the Summer Solstice.

Such brilliant poetry! A masterpiece called Love.

Blessings to you and yours this Passover!

    4. Under Pauls tutelage the Gentiles began growing the body of new creatures in Christ, which continues into the present day. Whereas the Jews display the characteristics and history of a people who have been on hold, while the prophecies concerning their fate continue to plays out in time.
Now, in the future, the shadow cast from the Pentecost of Acts 2 requires that witnesses be anointed and begin offering Jesus as the Messiah to the Jews. Scripture tells us that God will anoint His last two witnesses to be the preachers of righteousness to the Jews.
When they begin to preach on Pentecost, it will be to the Jews, because the Church is gone!

    7. The whole landscape of the end of the Church Age, and the beginning of the Tribulation is contained in the shadow cast by the feast of First Fruits. First Fruits is the fifty-day feast that ends on Pentecost. Christianity's birth and completion (not death, as we are all alive when we go to heaven) are typified in this 50-day period.

  4. A PRAYER

    Heavenly Father,

Thank you for sending your Only Begotten Son, your perfect and spotless Lamb, that He may drink of the cup you gave to Him that we may passover from death into life. As the world is shut-in at this very moment on this your Passover; we your children remember the fallen seed that took root and rose again to bring forth an increase beyond measure! Thank you for the precious blood of Christ that finished the work of our salvation, the finished work of our Jesus!

In him and by him we are yours forevermore!

LORD I pray you work miracles in the hearts of those yet touched by your Holy Spirit. Continue to bring in the bountiful harvest you have appointed for this very day! Bless Israel and the nations as healthy and fruitful branches grafted into your mighty olive tree. May we all partake of your goodness in the coming Day. May we together be your people and honour and worship you as our GOD.

Thank you for Jesus and His matchless, unfailing LOVE!!

    Amen.

  5. Excellent article, Stephanie. Very well written and a good overview. One of the top 5 best articles on unsealed.org.
While the Rev 12 sign was not nothing, it was not on Feast of Trumpets.
The feasts are appointed times- precise.
People made this claim but it makes these pastors look dishonest or too lazy to do a Google search and it undermines their credibility.

    1. Keep in mind just how precise the beginning of Yom Teruah is and how long it lasts. Yom Teruah is 49-hours in length. Line that up with when the R12S began and you may be surprised how they interact.

It may be good to go back and find when the official sighting was made that ushered in the Day of Shouting (Rosh Hashannah).

  6. There is a typo in the article. The Holy Spirit was sent 10 days after Jesus ascended, not 40. Jesus remained with us 40 days after His Resurrection.

I have often wondered if some of the shadows/fulfillments of the Fall feasts weren't related to when Jesus incarnated. Trumpets announce the beginning of the year (and His birth/incarnation), Atonement 8 days later signifying His circumcision (Officially becoming an Israelite), and Tabernacles His dwelling with us (and also pointing to His baptism, when the Holy Spirit was seen by John the Baptist setting down upon Him.)

    Everything points to something.

  7. I don't know the day or the hour or the Feast. I do believe it is very soon. The Lord's timing will be according to His perfect plan. Glory. And it is soon and very soon ! I am going to hope for the Rapture before Passover ends, but only if it is the Lord's will. There has been a prophecy of a great revival sweeping the world after Passover. Of course, many will be saved after the Rapture. So maybe that will come through the revival after the Rapture. People's hearts are open and more hungry than I have ever seen. And they are considering now that something big is happening. Praise the Lord Jesus! The world population clock is nearing 7,777,777,777. And it will come before the end of Passover. That sounds like a great day for Rapture to me. Hallelujah! www.itwasaplan.com - it was a plan dot com

  8. I have commented on a scripture mentioned here which im going to do again in more detail. Matthew 27:52,53.

I believe this passage to be a forgery, meaning that someone other than the author added this to the text later. First, let me say that these verses can be found in all available greek manuscipts of the N.T.. That being said the problenm is that the oldest ones we have of the entire N.T. only date back to the third century A.D. We have partials which date to 125 A.D.. A page of the gospel of John and Pauls letters dated at 200 A.D.

Before I explain why I believe this let me say that I also believe that 99.9% of Gods word has been preserved and is reliable with a few exceptions. This is the most blatant one.

    Consider this:

    1. Nowhere else in scripture, in any other gospel, Pauls letters or anywhere else in the bible can this event be found. If it did it would be a big deal but there is no other mention of it anywhere. In the O.T. there are scriptures that foretell Jesus's resurrection but nothing about anyone getting up with him. Any reference to the O.T. saints being resurrected in the O.T. is talking about the first resurrection.

    2. If you read verse 51 then 54 skipping 52 and 53 it fits like a hand in glove. 52 and 53 sticks out like a pounded thumb, totally out of place.

    3. The greek word for resurrection in verse 53 is the word- egersis. Its suspicious here because its the only place where this word is used in the New Testament. It however can be found in the early secular greek writings in 200 to 400 A.D. The word commonly used for resurrection everywhere else is the word- Anastasis.

Some have suggested that these O.T. saints who got up with Jesus also ascended with him after 40 days. I want to see a chapter and verse on that one. My bible says that when Jesus ascended that a cloud received HIM not THEM out of thier sight. That is speculation on top of forgery.

No one got up from the dead that day except Jesus. When he died there was an earthquake and some tombs probably were broken open but that is as far as it goes. Matthew 27:52,53 was added by some unscrupulous person when transcribing from an earlier copy probably around 150 to 300 A.D.

    God bless

    1. Notice it says AFTER his resurrection they appeared to many people. It looks like it is talking about a future event, probably has not happened yet even.

  9. Don't exclude Ascension Day, 40 days after the Resurrection when Jesus ascended, from our high watch days. This year it's officially May 21, but since it's 40 days after Passover, not Easter, the real day is Tuesday, May 26th.

  10. Thank you for a wonderful highlight of the holy day season—the plan of salvation: our hope, our ONLY hope. We all acknowledge that Yah’s timing is perfect, set in place right from the beginning, never too soon and never too late. It may be a sign of the times that there is some confusion about calendar. That may be to fulfill scripture as well.

What puzzles me is that a person might think that the timing HE established for the day of rest is up to OUR discretion. If there’s any doubt about the example at creation, we can see the other bookend—the millennium.

Messiah said we are to obey the commandments if we love Him. They’re not suggestions. We are to walk as He walked, holding His hand for the times we stumble. If we think that someone came along later and mollified the instructions, well, who are we going to believe! When Messiah said it was finished, he wasn’t saying “ignore everything I said earlier.” He will be behind that Bema. And Abba’s got His Back.

Who would aspire to be called ‘the least in the kingdom?” While it is true that we don’t ‘haf to’ do anything we’re told, why wouldn’t we want to? And I know you do.

  11. I love the articles on Unsealed

The moon last night, was the closest to the earth since January 26, 1948, (221,494 miles, 356,460 km). The Jewish date was Shevat 15, 5708, which was Tu B'Shevat. Some sources I found cited November 14, 2016, but the distance was further, 221,524 miles, 356,509 km.

From 2 websites, info on this holiday:

The holiday of Tu B’Shevat (sometimes spelled Tu BiShvat) is a Jewish holiday that literally translates to “New Year of the Trees.” It takes place on the 15th of Shevat in the Hebrew calendar (late January to early February on the Gregorian calendar

The holiday marks the beginning of spring in Israel; it is one of four annual “new years” described in the Mishnah. Tu B’Shevat is a time to celebrate the natural world by eating its bounty and planting trees. Gratitude is given for the fruits of the Earth and everything that grows.

    https://www.sandiegouniontribune.com/lifestyle/food-and-cooking/sns-dailymeal-93037-what-eat-tu-bshevat-20180131-story.html

When you come to the land and you plant any tree, you shall treat its fruit as forbidden; for three years it will be forbidden and not eaten. In the fourth year, all of its fruit shall be sanctified to praise the L-RD. In the fifth year, you may eat its fruit. -Leviticus 19:23-25

There are four new years... the first of Shevat is the new year for trees according to the ruling of Beit Shammai; Beit Hillel, however, places it on the fifteenth of that month. -Mishnah Rosh Hashanah 1:1

The Jewish New Year … For Trees!

Tu B'Shevat, the 15th day of the Jewish month of Shevat, is a holiday also known as the New Year for Trees. The word "Tu" is not really a word; it is the number 15 in Hebrew, as if you were to call the Fourth of July "Iv July" (IV being 4 in Roman numerals). See Hebrew Alphabet for more information about using letters as numbers and why the number 15 is written this way.

As I mentioned in Rosh Hashanah, Judaism has several different "new years." This is not as strange a concept as it sounds at first blush; in America, we have the calendar year (January-December), the school year (September-June), and many businesses have fiscal years. It's basically the same idea with the various Jewish new years.

Tu B'Shevat is the new year for the purpose of calculating the age of trees for tithing. See Lev. 19:23-25, which states that fruit from trees may not be eaten during the first three years; the fourth year's fruit is for G-d, and after that, you can eat the fruit. Each tree is considered to have aged one year as of Tu B'Shevat, so if you planted a tree on Shevat 14, it begins its second year the next day, but if you plant a tree two days later, on Shevat 16, it does not reach its second year until the next Tu B'Shevat.

Tu B'Shevat is not mentioned in the Torah. I have found only one reference to it in the Mishnah, and the only thing said there is that it is the new year for trees, and there is a dispute as to the proper date for the holiday (Beit Shammai said the proper day was the first of Shevat; Beit Hillel said the proper day was the 15th of Shevat. As usual, we follow Beit Hillel. For more on Hillel and Shammai, see Sages and Scholars).

  12. Nice article but lets get a couple of things straight. Adam and Eve were not created on the 6th day. It is clear they were created after the day of rest. So who was created on the 6th day?

If you read all of the context, GOD (The Father) created days one through six. Some could argue that The Father and The Son created days one through six. Now after the day of rest (7th day) Lord GOD (The Son) is now creates Adam and Eve. So what happened on the 6th day?

The Son, Lord GOD, is created in the image of GOD and in the sense that He now has a glorified body. So who is the female? Well it states that GOD bless Him, he and she. So is Lord GOD (The Son) being referred as a man who doesn't need a woman, like we know, in order to create life? Or was there a woman separate from Lord GOD? I find it interesting that Torah is a feminine word. Maybe there is some reference there that we are not totally understanding?

Anyways, Adam and Eve were created after the 7th day as the Bible makes that very clear.

Now lets talk about a possible rapture time frame. A lot of things happen on Passover. The Jews in Egypt, Noah's Ark, Enoch's birth and rapture, and even Jesus being taken by the Romans. It is very interesting that Jesus said He would come like a thief in the night. Specially when Jesus was taken like a thief in the night at Passover, so it would not start an uprising in the community.

I'm not setting a date but telling you to repent and be ready. It is possible Jesus' arrest was a sign of what was to come.

    GOD bless!

    3. The Son is not created. This is essential to understand; to believe otherwise is heresy so I implore you to read the Scriptures and re-consider your unbiblical statements. Jesus is God and was in the beginning with God. Through Him all things were made that were made. See John 1:1-4.

    4. Hi J Baker,

God (Elohim), literally meaning "the powers", from (Genesis 1:1) is eternal and was not created. Jesus (Saviour) is God (Emmanuel) and was not created. Christ is seen in heaven in (Isaiah 57:15).

Jesus was born of the virgin and conceived of the Holy Spirit. The only thing created was the body of flesh Christ inhabited while here on earth. Jesus came in His own image -- the image He created in us as seen in (Genesis 1:26-27 ESV).

Jesus was not created in our image. We were created in the image of Jesus and it's in that image that He came.

But I urge you to reconsider your thoughts on the topic. They are not Biblical could be a slippery slope to the wrong path. The Spirit is our wonderful teacher and perfect counsellor. He can (and does) speak for Himself. Seek Him from a contrite and humble spirit and see where God leads you.

Most of all, don't be afraid to ask questions (either here or from a trusted mentor). Always prayerfully frame new ideas against Scripture and let Scripture stand against criticism brought against it.

      Scripture will always stand strong.

      Blessings

I never said Jesus was created. I just said a glorified body was created for HIM. I know that Jesus always existed. Who else would be created or given a glorified body in the image of GOD? Adam and Eve were created after the 7th day as stated in the Bible.

You are the first to understand what I'm saying. Most give me a hard time. When Jesus walked with us in the flesh 2000 years ago, He also walked in the "glorified" flesh with Adam and Eve in the garden. I don't understand why most rather believe that Adam and Eve were created twice?

    8. I don't see Adam and Eve being created twice so I'm not sure what you mean there. Adam ("אדם") is the Hebrew word for "man". God created (Adam) man in His own image. The first Adam was very special especially when you consider *what* the image of God is.

Museums tout remains of early man. They make interesting displays but they are obviously NOT us. So many questions confound those who seek to fill-in gaps in human evolution and rightly so. *If* there was a line leading up to Adam (the man) is it any wonder that there are so few remains of *other* proto-men?

Have we seen new Adam's coming forth? Nope. Not since God created the first man Adam. The only thing we've seen is the second Adam, Jesus. He blazed the trail for where what we are to become...and that's not evolutionary -- it's REVOLUTIONARY!!

just as the angels go from there to here and back again, so shall we. Jesus appeared in locked rooms and left in the same way. So shall we be able to in the time to come. Chuck Missler likened that to slipping between dimensions IIRC.

    9. People see the He and She creation in day 6 and after the 7th day. Over the years I have heard people identify both creations to Adam and Eve. That is not possible though and Adam and Eve are clearly created after the day of rest. No preacher I have ever met has explained this. That is how I have come to see that GOD creates days one through six and Lord GOD creates after the 7th day. Shortly after that, it just says Lord. Anyways, that is how I have come to this conclusion. Any thoughts on that?

    12. The best explanation I have heard for this is that the first part is about generalities of what God did on each day, and the next part is giving details about a specific part of that week, the creation of Adam and Eve. Apparently it's a standard Hebrew poetry style known as Chiastic structure. Generality - Details - Details - Generalities is the structure I remember. (AKA: ABBA style) It is seen throughout the Bible, and seems to be heavily used in Revelation.

      Delete
    13. Hi, I've personally never heard of anyone believing that Adam and Eve where created on the 6th day AND after the 7th. I'm not trying 'to give you a hard time'. It's just not something that people believe. What they believe is that man (male and female) were created on the 6th day, the number for man. Gen 2:4-25, which I assume you are referring to as the creation after the 7th day, is simply looking again at creation and expanding on the 6th day. It isn't another creation. There wouldn't be any commentaries that teach Gen 2:4-25 was another creation after the 7th day.

By the seventh day God completed His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. (Gen 2:2)

The creative work of God was complete by the end of the 6th day as shown above. I realise you may see that just the work of 'God' (Gen 1:1) and not 'the Lord (YHWH) God' of Gen 2:4 but scripture tells us that 'YHWH' rested from all works on the 7th day:

"For in six days the LORD (YHWH) made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day; therefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day and made it holy. (Exo 20:11)

Besides that, scriptures tells that it is Jesus that created it all (John 1:3, Col 1:16). We shouldn't be saying the Father did this part and Jesus this. Again, not trying to give you a hard time. But what you are saying just brings confusion and leads to strange interpretations like where you try to explain who the female is from the 6th day. Clearly scripture tells us that on the 6th day he made man, which was both male and female and He blessed THEM. And he told THEM to be fruitful and multiply - clearly this is a command to Adam and Eve to multiply and fill the earth, not Jesus and an unknown female! (Gen 1:27-28)

I hope you can see that. Apologies if it sounded less than friendly. Not my intention. But confusion enters when the Word is not rightly divided.
      God Bless.

    14. Elgordo, you sound friendly. No worries. ;)

In Genesis 1:28, GOD told this "he him" to "be fruitful and multiply". Does this not mean to create life? If so, how could this be Adam and Eve? They don't know any better until after they have sinned and expelled from the garden. So who is multiplying while in the garden?

      Delete
    15. Hi again Mr J Baker!

Glad you took it the right way : ) I'll just post this one reply and then leave it there.

I am not sure where you are getting the 'he' or 'him' from in Gen 1:28. There is no mention of he or him in the verse. Every version I have checked (KJV, NKJV, NASB, NIV, AMP, JPS, ESV) has 'them' - "And God blessed them. And God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply..."

The "them" relates to the previous verse - "male and female created He them." The original command to Adam and Eve, right from creation and the days of Eden, even before the fall, was to multiple and fill the earth. Nothing odd there.

Going back to Gen 2:4-25, which seems to be the real tripping point for you (IMHO), I would just like to quote Jewish Messianic Scholar Arnold Fruchtenbaum on this passage as it may help. He writes:

"One of the basic laws of biblical interpretation is called the Law of Recurrence. The Law of Recurrence observes that often in scripture there are two blocks of passages side by side. The first block of scripture gives an account of an event or person from start to finish in chronological order. This is followed by a second block of scripture which goes back to an earlier time within the first block, in order to give more details on how certain things or events happened. Gen 2:5-25 follows the Law of Recurrence relative to Gen 1:1-2:3... The second block is Gen 2:5-25, which goes back to an earlier section in the first block, to the sixth day, in order to give more details on the sixth day as to just how Adam and Eve were actually created. The technique is not unique to Genesis but is found throughout scripture."

In short, Gen 2:4-25 isn't another creation after the 7th day but is a common Jewish way of retelling and expanding on the details of a previous section of scripture. Namely, the 6th day.

All the best and happy coding (from a fellow software engineer!)

    17. Elgordo,

I understand what you are saying and that would makes sense but let me point out why I was understanding in a different manner. First, here is the verse with "he him" in KJV...

"So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them." - Genesis 1:27

Now back to the 6th day creation. GOD created them and told the to be fruitful and multiply and at the end saw that all was very good. So how was all good, for Adam and Eve, if they just sinned and were kicked out of the garden? That is why I thought this "creation" was maybe of something else.

Also, glad to hear that you are a software engineer too. You will understand the best then, why I analyze every word. One character out of place in code will either crash it or totally change the functions behavior.

      Delete
    18. Actually, after typing that up, I noticed something. Is the "he" in "he him" and "he them" referring to GOD in Old English language? If so, I wonder why that is not capitalized? While I am a programmer, my English punctuation is not always the best. ;)

      Delete
    19. Oops, I messed up. Over analyzing, I guess. They would have not been kicked out at this point on the sixth day, if indeed this is Adam and Eve. My question I wanted answered was...

If the sixth day is Adam and Eve, why and how were they told to "multiply" if they did not have the knowledge of this until after they had sinned?

      Sorry. :(

    22. Hi J,

re: "If the sixth day is Adam and Eve, why and how were they told to "multiply" if they did not have the knowledge of this until after they had sinned?"

I'm not sure why you think they didn't have knowledge of how to multiply before the fall. Scripture doesn't actually say that. I assume you're basing that on the fact that their first reaction after the fall was to see that they were naked (Gen 3:7, maybe???) If so this is simply showing that their pre-fall pure-innocence was immediately replaced with guilt, shame, fear and a self-centered focus.

The command to Adam and Eve to multiply and have dominion over the earth, given on the 6th day, was a legitimate command even had there been no fall. They would have still reproduced as it certainly wasn't God's intention that there would only be Adam and Eve for all time! They would have given birth to children with a innocent God-centered nature and there wouldn't have been any stupid Covid19! : ) All of Gen 1:28-30 was a legit command for Adam and Eve, including what they can eat etc It doesn't make sense otherwise.

I understand your slight confusion over the usage of the words 'He created him, male and female he created them' - but it is written this way because Eve was taken, and formed from, a part of Adam. From creation, even before being seen, God saw her, Eve, 'in Him' (which is obviously a picture of the church, the Lord's bride, also being 'in Christ'. And she, in all her glory, will soon be revealed!). That is why we read later about Adam's creation and genealogy (Gen 5:1-2) and it uses 'man' and 'him' to refer to both male and female (Adam and Eve). This passage btw, points directly back to Gen 1:27-28 and shows that that passage is about Adam and Eve.

Steve - Yep! You can just say it far less words and less time than me! The Bible teacher in me can get verbose : )

    28. "Jesus was given a Glorified body made for Him"

I can agree with this at and after His resurrection by the Father, when he appeared to the disciples through closed doors and walls etc.

But not at His birth when He was begotten through Mary.

      - He had to do all things perfectly and sinlessly as a "man" like we are with all the common temptations that plague us in our condition, so as to meet the requirements of the Law and fulfill them all. He set aside His glory for that purpose, otherwise it would be an invalid sacrifice.

      - It is the male of mankind that makes a man mankind in reproduction. The miracle here is that Mary knew no man, and Jesus's Father chromosomes were created by the Holy Spirit.

  13. I'm a literalist for the most part and believe every bit of scripture is the word of God. 2nd Timothy 3:16-17, and the gates of hell will not prevail against it, Jesus the Rock(not Peter); the living Word. As for our rapture it will happen in the perfect timing and order 1 Corinthians 15:21-24, but let's also not forget the two witnesses at the accenting and what they were told Acts 1:11. We can say The Olivet Discourse was directed to the Jews, case in point we really don't know the day or hour, but what about the season. Are you feeling the season, we all have rapture fever and want to go home. But you're here now and you need to be shinning your light, go be light and Salt. I think passover will be special and hopefully special for all of you as we should really be focusing on what Christ has done for us.

    1. Forgive me if I am misunderstanding this, but he is not talking about 3 groups of people here. He is using repetition to solidify important information, as is often done in scripture:

13 But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope.

14 For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him ( Through Jesus, God will bring with Jesus, to Heaven..) those who have fallen asleep.

15 For this we declare to you by a word from the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. (Raptured Church following behind "those who have fallen asleep")

16 For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. (Restating verse 14, because important information is repeated often in the scriptures)

17 Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. (Restating verse 15, because it is important)

      Thoughts?

to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.
Paul tells us to watch and be ready, for what?
They knew the world would have this technology in their hands capable of seeing those two dead body's in the streets of Jerusalem (the two witnesses)and then have there own Christmas party.
Matthew 27:52-53. is also a sign and a shadow.

    5. So then would it be possible to you that v14 is about the faithful who have fallen asleep, now being spiritually present with the Lord, come down WITH the Lord, to claim their risen and perfected bodies (v16)? Then we, still alive, meet them in the clouds? Im not sure who you are implying v14 is speaking of? The two witnesses?

    8. Well... there's a couple things at play there... They have been teaching biblical Hebrew as a language for years. So if Moses and Elijah (the usual suggested two witnesses) do show up, someone will be able to understand and communicate with them...

Then there is the gift of tongues... They could speak anything and everyone who is meant to underwould would...

As far as trusting their identities would go... there's no reason to think it would be talked about outside the country. They might just laugh it off as more people with 'Jerusalem syndrome.' At least until Elijah calls down fire on someone... or Moses does something with a staff...

It is in God's character to give a warning before He does something. But who is to say that it wasn't already given? Who is to say that we who are seeing and hearing it coming aren't the warning to everyone else?

How do we reconcile these? The Israel plan has been halted (or so it seems), the red heifer project has not yet come to fruition, and many more. My eyes are to the sky, take no fear, but I wonder if we will see a huge onslaught of prophecy fulfillment in the next few weeks or if we have longer to wait for God's timing to be revealed.

As always, I deeply appreciate what is being written here, and I come often for the encouragement and wisdom that I find in both the posts and comments (even if I don't post much).

    1. Seems to me that virtually nothing remains that stands in the way of the Rapture, with timing largely dependent upon the arrival of Feasts, which many feel are crucial to that event. Sounds logical, given the huge weight that event holds in context with other major prophetic events. Hardly seems like a “just any old day will do” happening, but we could be surprised. The matters you refer to could easily come afterwards.

Some well studied sources have conjectured anywhere from a few months, to as long as a handful of years. The 70th Week begins when the Antichrist signs the agreement with Israel.

    4. From Grace Through Faith:
The Scripture that hints at the rapture being a number specific event rather than a date specific one is Romans 11:25.
      "
I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers, so that you may not be conceited: Israel has experienced a hardening in part until the full number of the Gentiles has come in."

There are two Greek words in this verse that lend critical support to a proper understanding. The first is translated “full number”. It’s a nautical term that describes the pre-determined number of sailors necessary to operate a ship. Until the ship had its full number of crew members, it could not sail. This is why ship captains sometimes got unsuspecting men drunk and kidnapped them late at night and then set sail immediately.

And the second, translated “come in” is also a nautical term that described the ship’s arrival at its intended destination.

By using these terms, Paul was saying that the hardening of Israel’s heart will not be fully removed until the Church reaches its pre-determined number and has been taken to heaven. There’s nothing arbitrary about God’s action here. He has already determined the number and will take the Church to its intended destination as soon as it’s reached.
      * * * *
Since God knows the beginning from the end, He is perfectly capable of having the "full number" coincide or not with the date of His choosing - be it a feast day or otherwise.

TWO things we KNOW with absolute certainty:
      1. The Rapture will occur.
      2. EVERY day we are one day closer!

      Blessings and Happy Easter/Resurrection Day!

  32. I never understood what was so good about "good friday." It was the day our Lord was nailed to a cross after a brutal 40 hr. beating.

Tradition says that he died on a Friday and was resurrected sometime early Sunday morning. This cannot be if the Word is true. Jesus said in Matt. 12:40 that like as Jonah spent 3 days AND 3 nights in the great fishes belly, he likewise would spend 3 days and 3 nights in heart of the earth.

Even if you try to count a partial day as a full day as some do, one cannot get around the 3 nights. Friday night..1 night. Saturday night..2 nights..Sunday night? No.

Jesus died on the cross on Wednesday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. and God raised him up sometime between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Saturday. A full 3 days and 3 nights.

At the first Passover all the Jews were to stay in their houses as the angel of death passed over. Pharaoh let the Jews leave Egypt to go to the promised land the day after the Passover.(Numbers 33:3). I read one estimate that showed Egyptian first-born deaths to be around 240,000.

This year Passover is April 8-16, and the world is staying in their houses---due to the Corona virus.

Pilate said to them, "You have a guard; go, make it as secure as you know how."
And they went and made the grave secure, and along with the guard they set a seal on the stone.
Now after the Sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene, and Joanna, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, also the other women with them bought spices, that they might come and anoint Him.
And they were saying to one another, "Who will roll away the stone for us from the entrance of the tomb?"
And behold, a severe earthquake had occurred.
For an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled away the stone and sat upon it.
And his appearance was like lightning, and his garment as white as snow;and the guards shook for fear of him, and became like dead men.
And the angel answered and said to the women, "Do not be afraid; for I know that you are looking for Jesus who had been crucified.
"He is not here, for He has risen, just as He said. Come, see the place where He was lying.

    1. Here's the interesting thing about what the rapture will be like if you read Matthew 27. When Jesus died on the cross, a great earthquake happened. It opened the graves and the saints which slept, rose from the dead and walked through the city. This is one of the reasons why the centurion and his soldiers were in fear and said, "Truly this was the Son of God".

The resurrection of the saints at that time happened at Jesus death and not at His resurrection. In Matthew 27:53 it states, "And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many." The "his" in this verse is lower case and is stating mans/saints resurrection and not "His" (Jesus). One can now get an understanding on why the pharisees wanted to lock His tomb down. They just saw what happened with the saints who were just resurrected and they were scared about what Jesus said about His own resurrection.

So in Matthew 24:7 it states, "For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places."

I believe when the Trump sounds there will be many earthquakes going on around the world to open the graves of the dead. Then we who are still alive will meet the Lord in the air.

Then Matthew 24:9 states, "Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake."

Who is Jesus talking to or about? The Jews and Israel. All nations will come to hate the Jews and Israel. Then people will betray one another. The rise of false prophets. Love will wax cold in many. Then it states who has to endure to the end. The Jews and those who didn't believe in Jesus Christ before the rapture.

In the LSV version of the Holy Bible, "his" is capitalized.

      Delete
    4. I would have to think the KJV got it right though with the lower case "his". Just because, the Romans are scared. I don't think the earthquake or dark skies frightened them. I believe they saw the dead rise as stated in Matthew when Jesus died on the cross. This made them believe that Jesus is who He said He is.

      Delete
  39. Jesus was not crucified on Thursday. Thursday was a "high day" also considered a sabbath day. No crucifixians were allowed on the sabbath. Even if he were, three full days( 72 hrs.) would bring it to Sunday afternoon. When Jesus said 3 days and 3 nights he meant three full days and nights not partial days. Nice try though. Also according to jewish custom a persons spirit stayed with the body for 3 full days before departing. Thats why God chose that time period. He didnt want the scoffers to say he wasnt really dead. Its the same when Jesus raised Lazarus. Why didnt he raise him after 2 days? Because they could have denied the miracle if he did.

As ive said before no one got up with Jesus either at his death or resurrection. If they were resurrected at his death then he wouldnt have been the first fruits from the dead. That passage of scripture is fake.

Also another example of poor translation is the usage of the word Easter in Acts 12:4. That is the greek word Pasha and should have been translated Passover not Easter. Easter is also fake and not biblical. The word is only found once in the N.T. and its a mistranslation. Easter like other things in traditional Christianity has a pagan origin.

The Biblical type of Passover was that they would take a lamb on the 10th Nisan (Palm Sunday, when Jesus rode into Jerusalem) and inspect it for the 4 days leading to its death on Passover, the 14th (Thursday) Exod 12:3,6.

Some believe otherwise (which they are obviously free to do - not a salvation issue!) and it is one of those topics that has had endless debate. Not trying to add to that here : ) but as well as Jack's page, I would recommend this page for a detailed analysis for those interested:

The late (and I thought great!) Dave Hunt goes into it in this discussion as well:

  43. Wow! JD Farog just stated he believes this will be the last resurrection Sunday celabration before the rapture of the church. Boom! Mic dropped!

    1. Did he? I watched his message and must have missed that. That doesn't make me happy since predictions like that tend to make otherwise sound teachers lose credibility when they turn out to be wrong. I'm hoping he qualified that with a "hope it will be" or "it could be" kind of statement.

    2. Sherrill777, yes he did in a way. It wasn't a thus says the the Lord kind of statement. Moore like "he believes it very well might be".

  45. Good morning everyone, Happy Resurrection Sunday. I thought I'd share a blog post I wrote this morning in the hopes it may be encouraging:

My Christmas Cactus and I have a history. Years ago, while still living in another state, I had a Christmas Cactus that had outgrown its pot. Not wanting to “dispose” of all the babies, I planted one startling in a small pot and gave the mother plant away in preparation for moving. I regret to say I let it languish. Finally tired of dealing with it, I set it outside in our backyard in full sun and promptly forgot about it. When it came time to move–months later–I didn’t have the heart to get rid of it. It was still alive, you see, even after all my neglect. How could I leave it behind? So, packing it in the car, we set off for Washington. I re-potted it and began to nurture it some. Eventually, it outgrew that pot as well and now sits in a place of honor on my kitchen island.

It has always had a mind of its own and blooms when it pleases–rarely during the Christmas season, maybe 2-3 times in all the years I’ve had it. I was disappointed it didn’t bloom last Christmas, but about a week ago, buds began to appear! Today, Resurrection Sunday, my plant has 7, yes 7, buds with two of them almost fully open.

I love the symbolism: Beginning and End. God knew I’d need this reminder this season. Jesus was born, He died, was buried, was resurrected, and is coming again! Soon. My Christmas Cactus, beautiful type of resurrection from total neglect, beautiful type of God’s love, which refuses to die and give up on us, shouts He is Alive! He is risen, He is risen indeed!

May Jesus fill you with hope this day and in the days to come.

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead (1 Peter 1:3)

    Blessings, Judi

  46. I have a question brothers and sisters. Can we depend on these following verses of scripture as God giving us an accurate timeline that includes Israel's rebirth and Jesus returning after the 7 year tribulation period. Matthew 24:32-34(final generation that concludes with Jesus's physical return to earth), Psalms 90:10(a prophetic generation), and Revelation 11:3(shows mathematically how God counts years as 12 months of 30 days). Israel was reborn May 14,1948. Fast forward 73 years as God counts them and you get to April 26,2020. This leaves 7 years for Daniels 70th week. Again, Psalms 90:10 gives 70-80 years so 2028 should not be gone beyond to fulfill prophecy.

    1. Certainly possible! But lots of people have tried to calculate dates before and they've always been wrong. Granted, you kind of expect someone to get it right eventually, just through sheer luck! And I wouldn't object to it being this month! But don't be too disappointed if it's not that date.

      Delete
    2. Oh, and don't forget that Jewish years can contain leap months, adding random extra months into the last 70+ years, so realistically, that could impact these calculations.

      Delete
    3. Indeed!

The days, months and leap months (as well as all of the calendars) play into this! That's why spreadsheets are a great way to model them.

As I've said before and I'll say it again. Even if I KNEW WITH CERTAINTY the DAY...would anyone believe me? Short of Godly revelation nobody would believe such a claim. So what have we then?

Study! Digging into God's word and spending time with the LORD.

For example, *how* we interpret (Psalm 90:10). If this is the years of the State of Israel? Then we're on the threshold of the seven (7) years -- the last week of Daniel. One potential is beginning Daniel's 70th Week on 9/17/20-9/19/20. A beginning here could include the arrival of the two witnesses on 10/10/20-10/11/20 (Simchat Torah) for a 1,260-day ministry that ends on Shabbat HaGadol (Erev Pesach) of 3/23/24 (M1D12-M1D13) or Purim if by the Civil calendar. Purim would be the time of the death and resurrection/rapture 3-1/2 days later of the two-witnesses in this model. This day is further marked by a Penumbral lunar eclipse! That would result in an Easter mid-point seven (7) days later on 3/31/24 or (M1D21) being Red Sea Crossing. Seven (7) days after this is the Great American Solar Eclipse 2.0 on Monday, April 8, 2024.

      Judgement.

80-prophetic years for Israel is 28,800-days and ends on Sunday, March 21, 2027. (Someone double check my math please!) 2,550-day since the beginning bring us to Saturday, September 11, 2027 (Yom Kippur by the Spiritual calendar).

Mid-point of this timeline plus 1,290-days is Yom Kippur on the Civil calendar. Mid-point of this timeline plus 1,335-days is Friday, November 26, 2027 and Saturday, November 27, 2027 which is 27 Cheshvan, 5788, the anniversary of the end of the Great Flood and the day that the LORD commanded Noah to come out of the Ark and repopulate the earth.

That's an interesting Day for the beginning of the MK isn't it?

Many possibilities in the eyes of our Father. For Him, anything is possible for He is trustworthy and true!

      Blessings

  47. For example, the big picture of signs revealed with certainty since last May that March 11th 2020 would be the penultimate date before the End Times begins, and that something very significant and bad would occur on March 11th. On this day the WHO officially declared coronavirus to be a pandemic, and Trump, God's trumpet that He uses to confirm His signs, delivered his prophetic 11 minute Oval Office address that ended precisely as the clock on the live tv news screen ticked 9:11 pm. As well, God is using basketball signs that connect with coronavirus and Trump's death, and the NBA became the symbolic first league to shutdown on March 11th. On March 11th a sports story involving three, and only three, NFL teams - the Philadelphia Eagles, Steelers, and Saints - confirmed that many Christians will be left behind. When these events come to pass on April 13th and April 20th this will prove that this method of interpreting the signs as a whole, rather than isolated events, is correct. Similar to how the Bible needs to be interpreted as a whole, rather than isolating passages, and throwing under the rug the ones that disagree with one's view under the rug. If you truly love the Lord's signs, after these events come to pass I'm sure you will want to watch every minute of this long video series that explains the Lord's big picture of End Times signs. Every minute is important and mind boggling. Knowing ahead of time the date of the last trump sign and Trump's death will arguably be the most important achievement of the watching community. I believe the watching community should unite around, and focus on, getting this information out about how this was known ahead of time. May His peace be with you.

    1. Aren't you the guy that's given a while lot of false predictions before? You keep moving your dates because you are constantly wrong. According to the Bible, you are therefore a false prophet.

    3. Darren,

The, "most important achievement of the watching community" was, is and will continue to be,

      1. We believed/believe/will believe in him whom he has sent. (John 6:29)
      2. We confessed/confess/will confess that Jesus is Lord and...
      3. We believed/believe/will believe in our heart that God raised him from the dead. (Romans 10:9)

10 For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.

      (Romans 10:10)

There is NO HIGHER ACHIEVEMENT than giving our daily, "Yes!" to the LORD.

      None.

    1. Welcome!

I'm not saying I've figured it out, but it does fit an interpretation of the Biblical narrative as far as my finite mind can figure. Working on it made my hair stand on end -- especially concerning the timing of the two-witnesses and the next North American TSE!

      Study well

  50. LAKE KINNERET

A quick note that Lake Kinneret is starting to spill over its banks. The lake (better known as Lake Tiberias or the Sea of Galilee) is 20cm or less from being full! Why is this of interest?

[ Insert a tip of the hat to Paul Dawson ]

4 I will incline to a proverb my ear I will disclose on the harp my dark saying

    (Psalm 49:4)

This is the literal Hebrew from (Psalm 49:4) and states that "I will disclose on the harp my dark saying." The word for "harp" here is, "כנור" and is root to the name of the lake by the same name. Lake Kinneret.

Why is it named after the harp? Most likely because it is shaped like one!

Lake Tiberias has been at historic lows for many years but recently has risen at meteoric rates from melting snow pack, rains and underwater springs to washing over its banks. Soon the dam that feeds the Jordan River will have to be opened.

Put another way, we're waiting for her water to break!

Anyone here who studies their Bible KNOWS the significance of the Sea of Galilee. Could the flood gates be opening during this Passover season? On the day of 10-7's?

    Hmmm...

  51. Updated post on the population counter...

    https://www.worldometers.info/
The above link shows information on world population increasing every second, # births, # deaths, Corona virus counts, etc. It indicates the world population will hit 7,777,777,777 on Tuesday, April 14, 2020 around 11am - 2pm central time (Note: This happens during Passover week---April 8-16, 2020). However, accuracy is within +/- 2 years. Does the 10 "7's" have a meaning like perfection or completeness?

Figures below are constantly changing from the website and are a few days old (they are estimates) but give a general indication of counts.

Note: due to overlap/missing causes, etc.,"%" will not total 100% or even represent an actual % but do show a relative importance. The numbers aren't exact.
.53 87,000 deaths of mothers during birth
.69 115,000 corona virus deaths worldwide this year
.82 137,000 died of seasonal flu
1.43 238,000 water related diseases deaths this year
    1.65 275,000 malaria deaths
    1.81 301,000 suicides
    2.28 379,000 road deaths
    2.84 472,000 AIDS deaths
    4.22 703,000 alcohol deaths
    7.93 1,320,000 hunger deaths
    8.49 1,413,000 smoking deaths
    12.91 2,149,000 deaths of children under 5
    13.89 2,311,000 cancer deaths
22.06 3,671,000 communicable deaths this year
    72.24 12,022,000 abortions

16,642,000 deaths so far this year per the website above.

The order of the items above was eye opening due to so much attention on the Corona virus vs other items on the list. Priorities?

  52. The 70th week decreed for Israel is a period of 7 prophetic years and this time lapse is presented in two halves in all of the related prophetic visions... 1260 days [first half] + 1290 days [second half] = 2550 days. According to https://torahcalendar.com, September 18, 2020 is the feast of TRUMPETS and September 12, 2027 is the feast of ATONEMENT = 2550 days (7-year Tribulation period). Coincidence?

  55. If anything is to be believable, speak truth. The whole of Israel was mixed complexioned people. Why not show truth? Why just show one aspect (color) of people? That mentality fosters separatism, exclusionism, and it does cause/trigger strife.
