Alea Iacta Est
On the 10th of January, 49 BC, Julius Caesar made the fateful, irreversible decision to cross the Rubicon river in Northern Italy in defiance of the Senate of what was then known as the Roman Republic. This intrusion was seen as a hostile attack, and it triggered a civil war that ultimately saw the fall of the Roman Republic and the establishment of the Roman Empire.
On that fateful day, when Julius made
the decision to cross the Rubicon and launch a maelstrom of events that he was well aware would lead to either victory or death, it is
reported that he uttered the following words:
Alea iacta est!
"The die is
cast!"
Indeed. There was no turning back, and Julius and his men knew it. These words
went down in history, and are sometimes invoked when a
situation reaches the point of no return.
And it is these words that
echo in my mind as I see the United States on the brink of a presidential
election that will unquestionably lead this country down one of two radically
different paths, and for a variety of reasons I feel strongly that, in a real
sense, it is a point of no return for a country that our national anthem hails
as "the land of the free and the home of the brave."
It is exquisitely ironic that the title of this
article is connected to the Roman Empire, which adopted Christianity as its
official state religion in the fourth century and then saw that official state
religion begin to metastasize into the malignant tumor that became today's
Roman Catholic Church.
The reason I say that is because the spark that
ignited this article came from the pen of a notorious maverick within the Roman
Catholic Church who has become a royal pain in the vestments for the highest
levels of leadership in the RCC*
from the pope on down.
*Note: With all due respect to any of my brothers and
sisters in Christ who identify as Catholic, I feel compelled to refrain from
referring to the Roman Catholic Church as "the Church" because I
don't wish to cause confusion. When I "the
Church," I mean the body of Christ, or the invisible body of all
born-again believers in the gospel of Jesus Christ, regardless of their
denominational affiliations. The problem is that it has become far too easy for
some to think of the Roman Catholic Church as a man-made organization with only
superficial connections to the gospel and rightly divided biblical doctrine,
and which has become little more than an apostate monstrosity that hides behind
a religious façade and devotes
itself to amassing wealth and wielding political power and control over the
populace for reasons that have little to do with the Word of God. So to avoid confusion in this article, I will often use the
abbreviated form "the RCC" instead of "the Church" when
referring to the Roman Catholic Church. If you happen to be a born-again
believer who identifies as a member of the Roman Catholic Church, no problemo. I'm not condemning anyone who does so...I just
want to be 100 percent clear.
According to information at Wikipedia, Carlo Maria
Viganò is an 83-year-old Catholic archbishop from Varese, Italy who served as
the Apostolic Nuncio to the United States from 2011 to 2016, and
also served as the secretary-general of the Governate of Vatican City
State from 2009 to 2011.
Viganò is known for publicizing the Vatican leaks
scandal of 2012 (aka "Vatileaks"), a
scandal involving financial corruption and money laundering within the RCC
under Pope Benedict XVI.
In 2018, Viganò released a letter that accused Pope
Francis and other high-ranking RCC officials of concealing and going soft on
accusations of sexual misconduct by Cardinal Theodore McCarrick, who faced
substantive charges of having sexually abused a 16-year-old altar boy in
1971–1972. According to Viganò, Pope Benedict had imposed sanctions against
McCarrick; however, Pope Francis had not only failed to impose those sanctions,
he actually elevated McCarrick to a high-level
advisory position. As a result, Viganò called on Pope Francis to resign.
After several years of vicious infighting within the
upper echelon of the RCC, in 2024 Viganò was charged with "schism,"
which is officially defined as a rejection of communion with certain
authorities within the RCC. This lies just a notch below heresy, which is a
rejection of any doctrine the RCC considers essential. Then in July 2024,
Viganò was excommunicated—the most severe penalty the RCC can inflict on any
Catholic individual.
To the surprise of no one, ever since that time
Viganò has either been excoriated as a right-wing, conspiracy-spouting nutjob
or praised as a heroic, outspoken beacon of common sense and what is good and
right, depending on which side of the fence someone happens to be on.
And I trust you've already guessed which side of
that fence I'm on.
Much to his credit, however, Viganò was just getting
warmed up.
So...at this point, you may be wondering what's so
special about an excommunicated archbishop, and how and why he figures into
this article. And the answer might surprise you:
Before God, Carlo Viganò is the only person
associated with the RCC I've ever known that I can honestly say is one of my
personal heroes.
Just
like me: If you've read
very many of my articles, you know that I give no quarter to the Roman Catholic
Church. I treasure the integrity of God's Word far too much to do otherwise.
But although I may sound harsh at times, know that it's directed at the
organization, not every individual person within that organization. I am keenly
aware that there are many good people in the Roman Catholic Church who love and
honor God, glorify Christ, and have trusted in His work of atonement for their
salvation. Just like me.
On October 25 of this year, Carlo Viganò published an open letter that appeared on certain news websites and that was
addressed to all American Catholics in regard to the upcoming election and its
two candidates, Republican Donald Trump and Democrat Kamala Harris. And listen
up:
I want everyone reading this to promise me they will
follow the above link and take 5–10 minutes to read that letter from start to
finish.
It's positively nuclear...and if it were a tad
shorter, I would have simply posted it in its entirety right here in this
article. But I decided to just quote a number of
passages from it and comment and elaborate on some of what Viganò has to say about the upcoming election, the
decision that Americans face, and the consequences thereof.
I will be the first to admit that this is a rather
unusual article for me. But after reading this open letter from Viganò, I truly
felt led to share with you some of the things this man has to say along with
some comments and observations of my own, because what this man has to say goes
out to all born-again believers in America, certainly not just
Catholics.
And I can say this with all honesty and sincerity:
Carlo Viganò, this excommunicated archbishop,
didn't
just read my mind—he read my heart.
And
believe me...I worked my tail off to get this article posted at least a few
days before the election, because I wish I could get every
American to read what Viganò has to
say, no matter who they plan to vote for...or even if they are not planning to
vote at all.
Because if they do read his letter,
they just might have a change of heart.
A peek at
the letter
As
I said, what I basically want to do here is quote and comment on a number of select passages from Viganò's letter to American Catholics, and I'm going
to start off with part of his opening remarks:
I
am addressing all of you, a few days before the Presidential Election that will
call millions of American citizens to the polls.
Even
in conditions of relative normality, the exercise of the vote is your moral
duty, through which you cooperate in the first person in choosing the person
who will lead the Nation for the next four years.
But
in this coming electoral round—just as in 2020 and indeed much more so—you are
not simply called to choose between two candidates who happen to be on
different political sides but who both nevertheless have the common good at
heart in compliance with the Constitution and the Law.
No; in this election you
must choose between two radically opposed ways of conceiving the government of
your Nation: you are called to choose between democracy and dictatorship,
between freedom and slavery. [That pretty well sets the tone of the letter.]
(emphasis in original, [comments]
added)
— Carlo Viganò: Open Letter to American Catholics [Source]
From the very start, Viganò
doesn't mince words. He let's you know right off the
bat what he sees as being at stake in this election:
It's democracy or dictatorship—freedom
or slavery.
And Viganò cuts to the chase:
On
one side we have candidate Donald J. Trump, who, despite serious problems in
his positions—especially in the matter of abortion and assisted procreation—has
as his objective the common good and the protection of the fundamental freedoms
of citizens. [Note that throughout his letter, Viganò is brutally honest—he
never once tries to whitewash what he sees as Trump's failings or shortcomings
as a political leader.]
In
Donald Trump's America, every Catholic can practice their Faith and
educate their children in it without interference from the State. [Naturally,
Viganò is constantly
focusing specifically on Catholics, but I can forgive him for that. What he
says applies to all born-again believers.]
On
the other side we have a candidate and a party that promotes everything that
directly opposes the Faith and Morals of the Catholic Church. [Make
that "of all born-again believers."]
In
Kamala Harris' America, Catholics—but also Protestants [thanks,
Carlo]—are
considered fundamentalists to be marginalized and eliminated, and their
children are considered the property of the State, which arrogates to itself
the right to lead them astray from an early age in both body and soul. [See my
question below.]
Trump's
America can become great and prosperous again. Harris' America is destined for
invasion and for moral, social, and economic destruction: the most ferocious
dictatorship.
Look
at your country! Your cities have become dumps filled with derelicts and
criminals, drug dealers and addicts, prostitutes and robbers. [And a
large percentage of them have waltzed through our Southern border (which was
secure under Trump) over the last four years while Kamala "The Border
Czar" Harris cackled and looked the other way.] Your schools are dense
with indoctrination and corruption from kindergarten onwards.

— Carlo Viganò: Open Letter to American Catholics [Source]
Yes,
young children. Please explain to me how this is right...how this is
good...how this is something that we should allow in our country.
Q. What kind of government would allow the state to
remove a child from their parents' care if those parents wisely and
protectively refused to allow that child to undergo permanently life-damaging treatment
and/or surgery because their minds have been temporarily filled with perverted
but alluring gender fantasies by teachers they trust?
A. To find out, vote for Kamala Harris and stand by.
And man-made climate change? YES!! Viganò gets
it:
They
have gone so far as to tamper with the climate by means of sophisticated
geoengineering operations and devastating arson in order to
make the global warming fraud credible and impose the green transition, the
increase in the cost of energy, and electric cars and scooters. [No?
Ask people from Maui about lasers and blue roofs. And then be prepared to have
Google inundate you with hysterical claims that it's all just a bunch of
lunatic conspiracy theories.]
And
all this is done based on evidence that consists of lies without any
scientific proof, but which are propagated through the servile
collaboration of the regime media, ever ready to label any dissenters as
conspiracy theorists. [There is in fact scientific evidence that
man-made climate change has no basis in fact, but good luck trying to
disseminate it and getting people to open their eyes and look at it...or get
funding for any research to further support it.]
(emphasis & [comments]

— Carlo Viganò: Open Letter to American Catholics [Source]
I was extremely gratified to see that Viganò gets
the man-made climate change hoax, because I get sick and tired of having people
look at me as if I had a couple of screws loose when I tell them about this
stuff...as if I were the only one in the world who believed such a laughable
idea.
This is a biggie, because this is the boogie man
that the left hopes to use to force the world to kowtow to a powerful global
government.
No
other way: A terrifying
global problem that threatens life on earth as we know it and that is far
beyond the abilities of any one country to deal with. The solution? Isn't it
obvious?! A global government, of course!
And anyone who doesn't toe the line on this global
government idea is endangering the lives of all of mankind and will need to be
silenced and removed...otherwise we'll all be dead by 2030!!!
That's the magic year: 2030. It's do
or die!
Viganò also gets the deep state:
In
these four disastrous years of the Biden-Harris administration, we have had a
puppet in the White House and a corrupt and incompetent Vice President who
has never stopped lying and deceiving voters about her past and her future.
[Never stopped lying and cackling, that is. After watching a
clip from a recent interview of Harris, it occurred to me that Kamala's cackling was a signal to the interviewer that means "I
don't have the faintest idea how to answer that question, so just be nice and
cackle along with me and just change the subject."]
Power
is managed by the criminal deep state—whose names and faces we now know—that
is responsible for the destruction of your great Nation. [Chief
among them, one Barack Hussein Obama: The first president in American history
to continue living in Washington after his official tenure as president ended.
And it doesn't take a genius to figure out why.]
(emphasis & [comments]
added)
— Carlo Viganò: Open Letter to American Catholics [Source]
He's 100 percent right: Kamala Harris has been lying
to the American public for four years. You expect that to stop if she gets
elected president?
Do
something, will ya? I actually hesitate to
call Kamala Harris incompetent. Why? Because it seems to me that a person would
have to actually attempt to do something—and
then do it poorly—before being judged incompetent. Kamala Harris hasn't done a
blessed thing except cackle in fake accents...but she's competent at
that!
Viganò knows that Kamala Harris is completely
enmeshed in the deep state world, just like our old friends Barack Obama, Bill
and Hillary Clinton, George Soros, Klaus Schwab, Bill Gates, and many others.
And he knows that Donald Trump is ready to do everything in his power to pull
the plug on their plans for the U.S. and the world:
Donald
Trump and Kamala Harris: we are not talking about two visions that are a bit
different but still part of the normal political back-and-forth. [In
other words, the American people need to wake up to the fact that we have left
the world of politics as usual. This is something very different.]
No;
we are talking about two diametrically opposed and irreconcilable worlds, in
which Trump fights against the deep state and is committed to freeing America
from its tentacled grip, while on the opposite side we have a corrupt
and blackmailed candidate, an organic part of the deep state, who acts as a
puppet in the hands of warmongers like Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, of
self-proclaimed "philanthropists" like the criminals George Soros and
Klaus Schwab, or of characters like Jeffrey Epstein and Sean Combs. [A
good, accurate summary.]
Their
program is that of the Global Left, the World Economic Forum, [founded
by the above-mentioned Klaus Schwab] the Rockefeller Foundation, the Bill & Melinda Gates
Foundation, and ultimately the program of Vanguard, BlackRock, and State
Street. [State Street is associated with the WEF.]
(emphasis & [comments]

— Carlo Viganò: Open Letter to American Catholics [Source]
Here Viganò really gets to where the rubber meets
the road:
Behind
these people—by now we should know this—are people devoted to evil, united
by the satanic hatred against Our Lord Jesus Christ and those who believe in
Him, mainly against the Catholic faithful. [Sorry Carlo, but I'm gonna have to follow a different
tack on that one. This is certainly not focused "mainly against the
Catholic faithful." It is focused on all those who love, honor, and
worship the God of the Bible and lift up the name of
Jesus—the name that is above every name!]
We want Christ to reign, and we proclaim it with pride: Christ
is King!
[But I'm with you 100 percent on that one,
Carlo!]
They want the Antichrist to reign, whose tyranny is made of chaos, war,
disease, famine, and death. [Not sure if Viganò intended it that way, but that sounds
an awful lot like the seal judgments of Revelation 6 in the first part of the
Tribulation.]
(emphasis & [comments]
added)
— Carlo Viganò: Open Letter to American Catholics [Source]
Viganò makes it crystal clear that he understands
that Trump has his flaws and failings, but in spite of
that he urgently makes the case for casting one's vote for him in this
election:
Candidate
Donald J. Trump, while certainly taking some serious critical positions that a
Catholic cannot agree with, represents for us, dear American faithful, in this
specific historical moment, the only
possible choice to counter the globalist coup that the woke Left is about to
implement definitively, irreparably, and with incalculable damage for future
generations. [Again,
not cutting Trump any slack on moral or biblical issues, but
urging believers to vote for him anyway in view of the terrifying
alternative.]
Voting
for Donald Trump means firmly distancing ourselves from an anti-Catholic,
anti-Christian and anti-human vision of society. It means stopping those who
want to create a hellish dystopia that is even worse than the one announced by
George Orwell.
(emphasis in original, [comments]
added)
— Carlo Viganò: Open Letter to American Catholics [Source]
Viganò wraps it up by getting back to what is most
important:
I
repeat: the choice is between a conservative President, who is paying with his
very life for his fight against the deep state, and an infernal monster who
obeys Satan.
For
a Catholic, there can be no question: voting
for Kamala Harris is morally inadmissible and constitutes a very serious sin.
Nor is it morally possible to abstain, because in this war declaring oneself neutral means allying
oneself with the enemy. [Bravissimo! Extremely few people have the
courage to say what should be obvious to any born-again believer: If you
are in Christ, there is simply no way to justify voting for Kamala Harris. None.
It's that simple in the eyes of Carlo Viganò...and in my eyes as well.]
People
around the world are beginning to understand the threat that looms over them
and their children's future, and you Americans have understood it too. But even
if this time it will be more difficult for the deep state to repeat the fraud
of 2020, you must not think that it will resign itself to defeat so easily. [He
knows as well as I do that the 2020 election was stolen through fraud, and this
one may be as well. After all, the
Democrats had four years to develop the techniques used in 2020, and they've
had four more years to develop new and improved techniques.]
Let
us therefore prepare to prevent possible attacks and civil war scenarios from
being used to impose martial law and new restrictions, after the attempts on
his life from which President Trump providentially escaped.
But let us not forget, dear Faithful, that human energies alone are powerless in the face of this infernal display of forces. We proclaim that Christ is King—this means that Our Lord must return to reign, and the first way to make Him reign is by obeying His holy Law and living in His Grace. [Yes! Christ is King! And yes...He will return to reign! And He will probably return to reign a lot sooner than Carlo Viganò or any other Catholic imagines. Sadly, Roman Catholic eschatology is a royal postmillennial mess.]
Let
Christ reign in your hearts, in your families, in your communities, and
throughout the entire United States of America: this is the only way to peace,
harmony, and prosperity for your Nation.
Think
of how many of you Catholics there are in the United States! Vote without hesitation, and pray that Our Lord will enlighten American
citizens in making their choice and grant victory to those who, at least, have
no problem proclaiming that Christ is Lord. [Yes! Christ is Lord,
regardless of any wisecracks that emanate from the mouth of Kamala Harris.]
May
God bless you all, and may the Virgin of Guadalupe, she who is the Patroness of
the United States and all the Americas, and Saint Michael the Archangel,
protect you. [Guadawho?! Oh
well...no matter how right he may be about what's going on in the world, he's
still a Roman Catholic. <8^]
(emphasis
in original, [comments]

— Carlo Viganò: Open Letter to American Catholics [Source]
When a couple of people in the crowd began shouting
"Christ is King!" and "Jesus is Lord!" at a recent Kamala
Harris rally, Kamala quipped:
"I think you guys are at the wrong
rally..."
The crowd cheered and howled with laughter, but I
believe Kamala's words had a deeper significance. Actually, a
Kamala Harris rally is one of the best places on earth to shout out praises to
Christ the King. But at the same time, it is a sad truth that if you want to
honor Christ as Lord, you will certainly not be welcome at a Kamala Harris
event.
One minor thing to note about Viganò's letter:
The
Virgin of Guadaloopy: As I'm sure you're aware, Roman Catholicism has
legions of saints that they worship and lots of man-made beliefs and rituals
that have been added to and are often contrary to or incompatible with the
clear teachings of God's Word—and I'm not going to waste my time digging into
any of that. I will just say this: As much as I respect him and agree with him
on many things, Carlo Viganò is still a Roman Catholic and as such still
adheres to all of the religious folderol that the RCC
wallows in and is famous for. I'm sure Viganò was raised to take all of that
very seriously, and I doubt that will ever change. So be it. And so although I may disagree with him on all the RCC
rigamarole, I still recognize him as a bold, brutally honest, clear-thinking
man who is not afraid to speak the truth in the face of persecution and who
refuses to become mired in the political games that characterize and abound
throughout the upper echelons of leadership within the Roman Catholic Church.
And for that, he has my undying respect and remains one of my personal
heroes, Virgin of Guadalupe or no Virgin of Guadalupe.
OK, but what about that
decision America is about to make?
Cast your
die
America is about to make a
decision filled to the brim with critical issues and that could
potentially lead this country to some dire consequences. And just as Carlo
Viganò points out, in the final analysis this election comes down to a choice
between a candidate who, to put it succinctly, seeks to promote democracy and
freedom and a candidate who seeks to promote dictatorship and slavery.
And if you think that's a bit overstated, go back
and look at what Trump did and supported during his term as president, and what
Kamala Harris did (or didn't do) and supported (or didn't
support) during her term as vice president.
That should give any clear-thinking individual all
the convincing they need.
And I've said it before, but I feel compelled to
emphasize this:
I certainly do not worship Donald Trump, nor am I
trying to encourage anyone else to do so. I am not one who is looking to Donald
Trump to Make America Great Again. I am not anticipating that Donald Trump is
going to undo all the damage that has been done to our country in the last four
disastrous years.
The reason I say that is because I believe America
is coming under God's judgment, and no one is going to change that: not Donald
Trump, and certainly not Kamala Harris. No one. The United States
performed its 70 millionth legal abortion this year, our support for Israel has
been reduced to arm-twisting that is contrary to Israel's best interests, and
our nation continues its slide into a cesspool that includes the glorification
of sexual perversion (including the perversion of innocent children). As I have
discussed previously, these are things God judges nations for. And that
hasn't changed.
So, one might wonder, why am I urging readers to
vote for Trump? What difference does it make? What does it matter? If Christ is
going to return soon to make the world great again, then why vote for
this foul-mouthed narcissist with ridiculous hair?
Carlo Viganò thinks Trump can turn things
around...but is that what I think? Not exactly. I believe
America's fall is inevitable, and that no one—including Trump—is going to be
able to turn things around to the degree that many Trump supporters are
envisioning (or are "proffuh-sighing").
So...why in the world am I bothering to write this?
Why? Because even though I am convinced of the truth
of what I just said, I also believe that if Trump were to actually
win this election and get back in the White House, it may very well be
God's way of giving our nation one brief, final respite before He unleashes His
judgment in fuller, more devastating forms.
I believe that if Trump wins this election, it just
might give our country one last gasp of fresh air during which the satanic
forces who are busy leading the Democrats and the deep state by the nose and
our country to ruin could be held at bay long enough to give a number of people
who are on the fence a chance to be brought into the kingdom before the bottom
falls out in the wake of the Rapture. It would also give believers all over the
country one final, God-honoring opportunity to shout out "Christ is King!"
and "Jesus is Lord!" at a political rally without being mocked by the
speaker. It would give members of the body of Christ one last, brief chance to
raise their collective voices to point the world to the Savior without having
their words shoved back down their throats by government leaders who consider
it hate speech and are demonically driven to do so.
On the other hand, if it turns out that Kamala
Harris wins this election, I see no such respite. This country's precipitous
slide toward God's judgment will continue unabated, and if anything will be
accelerated. Either way, after the Rapture it will go into free fall.
In other words, the way I see it,
it may very well come down to this:
One thing Carlo Viganò said that really hit me was
that fact that if you don't vote at all, you are effectively voting for Kamala
Harris. And he's got a point, because this is so much more than a choice
between...
"...two candidates
who happen to be on different political sides but who both nevertheless have
the common good at heart in compliance with the Constitution and the Law."
If only it were so. I hate to sound like I'm
oversimplifying things, but the closer you look at Kamala Harris, the Biden
administration, and the deep state that controls both, the more you realize
that this election could realistically be called a choice between good and
evil. That's just about what it comes down to.
And when you are faced with a choice between good
and evil and you decline to choose good for whatever reason, you are
effectively choosing evil. I hate to say it, but it's pretty much that
simple—and it's shocking and tragic that it has reached that point in this
country.
So help me: If I get any more emails from people with their
sniveling, elitist reasons why they don't want to lower themselves to vote for
Donald J. Trump, I will simply delete them for the sake of my blood pressure.
I'm kidding—my blood pressure is actually
low. It's just that I'm afraid I might respond in a way that would
dishonor my Lord and Savior. But if you were thinking about not voting because
there's just something about Trump that ruffles your feathers, let me put it to
you this way:
If
you think he stinks...
•
Hold your nose and vote for Trump anyway.
If
you think he's got ugly hair...
•
Close your eyes and vote for Trump anyway.
If
some of the things he says offend your sensitivities...
• Close your ears and vote for Trump anyway.
To be honest, I had no intention of writing anything
about the election before the election. But the Lord used the words of
an excommunicated archbishop to make me get off my duff and get busy sharing
with all of you what I perceive to be the heart and soul of this
election—because I believe it matters.
The Bible calls us to be good citizens, and voting
for the presidential candidate whom you think will best support and promote the
good of the nation and its people is part of being a good citizen. So, just as
the nation's die is about to be cast, get out there and cast your die on
November 5.
And I feel compelled to say this to a few folks out
there:
It's not about voting for the candidate whom
you think exemplifies sterling Christian behavior! Good grief...I hope you're
not that naive, because in that case you'd never vote at all! That's
politics...deal with it.
Which reminds me...got one more to add to the list:
If
you're turned off by his moral imperfections…
• Look in the mirror and vote for Trump anyway.
Finally, if you truly believe in your heart that
Kamala Harris is the best choice for America and will do more to make this
country a better place than Trump will, then by all means get out there and
cast your vote for her with pride, and may God's
blessings and protection dwell richly upon you.
Because if she wins, you're gonna need 'em.

ReplyDeleteI understand why you wrote this, Greg. And I can see your heart in it. I respect that. But I think it's off the mark, ever so slightly, and that's probably why you initially didn't want to write it before the vote.
ReplyDeleteYou already know that God will do what God will do, but you would like to see the American citizenry maximize its potential for the sake of morality and decency and justice. And you believe, as the Archbishop does, that you know which candidate might accomplish that. You may even be right.
I mean, you're definitely right about Harris/Walz being the wrong choice!
But Trump and Kamala aren't the only two on the ballot that are legally capable of winning 270 electoral votes. And even though I'll probably vote Trump, I think it's worth considering what we'll say when we stand before our Savior. In my case, I'd like to look Jesus in the eye, if I can stand the bright light (lol), and I'd like to say that I voted for the most moral candidate. I have separated myself entirely from the argument that I am corporately responsible for the outcome. I am only to blame for those moments where I fell short as an individual. In His mercy, I am blameless for the existential earthly conditions that have presented themselves to me. And that includes the sad lack of choices. Or the manner in which He'll choose to use them.
He is sovereign, is He not? And it may very well be that if we all do the same in voting for the very best candidate, God will use that too. Maybe Trump really is the best candidate, but that is an opinion, and it would rely heavily on available information and insight and experience which is highly variable in a blind and misled and unconcerned public. I totally understand the strong desire to express an opinion. And we all do it. There is no fault in that. In fact, I'm relieved to see Christian leaders standing up more often. But there is a difference between explaining why you see someone as God's candidate and telling others to vote as another sees fit.
Perhaps the Rapture and Tribulation timeline have always hinged on Trump's loss, no? (I can't see Him losing if the vote is legitimate.)
Perhaps there will come a day when Trump does, in fact, do more harm than Harris ever could have, whether by accident or on purpose. We don't know the future, but we can all make our own probability assessments.
Perhaps it's called the "Last Trump" for several reasons. Perhaps it's Trump's win that forces an early destruction for America. No respite at all.
You already know that America is doomed. Isn't it also true that America will fall exactly WHEN our Creator wants it to? So the "respite" model is not a picture of reality at all.
I really only see three necessary actions for a Christian in this election . . .
1. Pray.
2. Vote for the candidate which honors God the most.
3. Pray again for all of the parties involved.
We are to live fearlessly and vote fearlessly. I am not afraid of what's coming. Sad, but not scared. And I will never pass up a better candidate for a practical candidate. There's a reason why the losers always end up courting the independent voters next time. In this way, politicians are forced to reckon with their shortcomings.
Let's hope that our Messiah fixes all of this sooner, rather than later.
And please don't misunderstand me. None of this is meant to be personal, and I'm not playing devil's advocate. (No pun intended.) God does reward those who try to do the right thing. And you are trying to get Americans to do the right thing. But the best we can do is to give a character and issue comparison. By telling people that they ought to vote for a particular candidate, we open ourselves up to needless liability as Christian leaders, should we be wrong. And we find ourselves surrounded, in time, by uninformed and uninvested sheep.
Trust in God. Not the process.
Jeremy
I read your comment twice, and I still really don't quite get what you are actually trying to say.
DeleteTip: Don't bother trying to explain it again, because I think it's best if I just avoid looking at the Comment Section from now on and just let those who are so inclined have at it.
Greg L.
Not just you Greg, I'm not understanding either. What's the criticism, that Greg is communicating that people shouldn't vote for evil? The commenter themself said that Harris/Walz is the 'wrong choice'. So the moral choice *is* voting for Trump, right?
DeleteAlso just wanted to add that God being sovereign doesn't excuse us from not doing good (or even doing evil in place of good). God's sovereignty and His will happens on a larger and eventual scale, I think the whole 'we need to let evil happen so that the Great Tribulation can begin' is over-thinking. Evil doesn't need our help, Satan owns this world (for now)...
"What's my criticism?"
DeleteWell, it wasn't very large to begin with, and I do respect Greg's thorough writings. I respect his heart on the issues. I see us as kindred spirits, there.
Simply put . . . We don't have the right to tell people what to vote for on any issue. Even if they're stupid and naive, we only have a right to tell them why we think our way is best.
And why is that?
Because we don't have a clue which candidate is best for God's purposes. Not one of us knows that. You may believe Trump is better for America. And you may explain why. You may believe that he is better on 20 issues. And you may explain those 20 issues to your heart's content.
But not one of us actually knows what's best for anything. And my evidence is all around you in the human condition. And Greg is a smart guy. He knows this. And that's why his initial reaction was to not speak of it before the election. He cares deeply about his country. And that's why he made the blood pressure comment. As C.S. Lewis poked fun at many times, we are not complex creatures; we let our fears and emotions overtake us at times.
You may think this is the most important election ever. But there have been far bigger pivots in history. Trust God.
Speak to others about why you see this moment this way. That is Godly and essential for Believers. But don't pretend that you know what our future looks like with each candidate. That is a presumptuous lie we all like to tell ourselves. And, after you're wrong enough times, life will teach you that. Trust God.
How many of you have ever regretted a choice that you made? Doesn't it always seem to hurt more when you tried to convince others to do the same? You know what you did! lol
If you were to watch Trump win by a landslide, and it was immediately followed by an EMP attack on central America by concerned globalists, where would that supposed respite be?
Or if Trump goes on to use the military for forced "bird flu" injections, and it ends up causing 53% mortality within 3 years, would that have been better than watching the Kamala Comedy Hour? 175,000,000 deaths? I would regret just one death, knowing that I voted for "that guy."
You can tell people what you believe, but you can't tell people what to do. You can give opinions, but you cannot say that yours is the right choice. No one can.
(continued below)
With all of the Hitler talk, lately, let me tread carefully, but . . . Hitler was a very good pro-Germany nationalist on many, many issues. But he was terrible on at least a couple really big international ones. If Trump isn't Hitler, is it okay for us to still cast votes like we are the German people of the 1930's? We don't know more than they did. Ask one of them, if you can find a still-living soul. They came to hate their choices, and they thought they were doing God's will, too.
DeleteNo, He will do as He chooses, so carry your own responsibilities. Don't try to carry others', too. That really will raise your blood pressure.
America's problem today isn't Kamala. It's the American people. The majority who don't want to think, and the minority who want to do your thinking for you. We should focus on saving souls, not countries. Because it's the people, here, that are no longer exceptional, by about half. And, besides, what's good for one nation is usually bad for another. But that's a different argument.
Let me quote Corey from last week.
"It's almost like God extended and stretched "Trump's" time upon the world stage by allowing him to "lose" the "election" 4 years ago and to have to run again here in 2024 - right on time for the set-up . . . "
Everybody chill. Pray. Relax. Talk about the issues. Talk about the candidates. Breathe. Be humble. And pray again. Vote as YOU think best for the Kingdom. Because that is what our Father asks us to do. This is a universal principle which we can use for all elections. We don't need name-pushing. It actually makes us dumber.
And stop worrying! Don't let your emotions guide you as a disciple. God already used this election, and we just haven't seen it yet.
Jeremy
@ SquirrelNutkins
DeleteYou are correct. I should have been even MORE thorough, and said, "I also BELIEVE, on a personal level, that you're definitely right about Harris/Walz being the wrong choice!"
I was trying to show agreement with Greg on a personal level, and I should've been more explicit. That's only MY opinion. Do not vote on it. I don't want my name coming up in anyone else's discussion with Jesus when it's time to explain yourselves. lol
Jeremy
Would it be better to say it this way?
DeleteGreg, you are an intelligent and God-fearing man. I love you, and I probably would agree with you more often than not. I do love an intellectual discussion. But you don't get to call other people's opinions " sniveling or elitist." That is not how you treat others with different views.
And you can't tell us to hold our noses, close our eyes, plug up our ears, ignore a candidate's attributes, and vote the way YOU see fit, just because you feel that's best down the road.
Jesus Christ has made you better than that. And whether or not we're proved correct, God would not have us behave that way. Your enemy is not the Kamala voter . . . it's fear. And we've all felt that way. Trust God.
Instead of telling like-minded people how to vote your conscience, speak to the candidate and the issues only, and maybe a Kamala follower will open their nose, eyes, ears, and mind.
I'm sorry, that's as short as I know how to put it. But it borders on unkind and I hate that.
More love, trust, and explanation. Less instruction, please? It turns away those you're trying to reach. They have their own opinions. Change hearts, not minds. All that stuff.
Jeremy
Jeremy, Hitler was NOT a "very good German nationalist". Killing Jews, Gipsies and disabled children is NOT good nationalism (these were German citizens after all). Setting the Reichstag ablaze and blaming the communists is not good nationalism either, nor is quasi forcing the president to appoint you.
DeleteHitler was a bitter, angry, dangerous and plain evil man who turned an entire people into fanatics. Any economic upturn can never overshadow that.
Trump isn't Hitler, but please don't overlook just how bad Hitler was.
@firefrorefiddle
DeleteI don't disagree with your statement that Hitler was a bad, bad man. I never implied otherwise. But he was a good nationalist. I think the problem, here, is that you and I see Jews, Gypsies, the disabled, and others living in Germany as . . . German people. Hitler did not. Making him an amazing nationalist for everybody else . . . his Germans.
And using terror, deceit, and force is standard fare for nationalists, too. Let's not kid ourselves. You can't define them by their tools. Capitalists, communists, socialists, fascists, totalitarians . . . they all do those evil things. Just look at the long list of US trespasses.
Jeremy
Kamala and Free Will
ReplyDeletePeople on Twitter who support Kamala put a coconut and a palm tree on their profile. This is a reference to a video where Kamala said her mother used to say "You think you just fell out of a coconut tree?" "You exist in the context of all that came before you."
Leftists deny free will. All of my problems are the result of past conditions, so if we change the world's material conditions, a bright future will necessarily result. Having a fruit and a tree on a Twitter profile brings us back to the garden of Eden. The fruit from the tree of knowledge was a question of free will. Adam blamed Eve and Eve blamed the serpent. They denied their own free will.
At the same time Kamala has a saying, "Unburdened by the past."
As with the "I'm Speaking" meme and the Dick Cheney endorsement, this is ironic because both statements cancelled each other out. If we didn't fall out of a coconut tree and are irrevocably shaped by our history, then how in the world would we ever be able to turn the page and reach a bright new future, unburdened by all that has been?
Again the mark of a Kamala supporter is to put "fruit from a tree" on your Twitter profile. Satan knows that his most powerful trick is to seduce and fool American women (like Eve) into voting for their own downfall.
Kamalas denial of free will (ironic given that "Freedom" is her campaign theme) links her up with the atheist philosopher Sam Harris. The name Sam Harris sounds like Kamala Harris. Sam Harris is also from California, also he is interested in Hindu and Jain thought from India. Sam Harris's parents were also from different backgrounds like Kamala's. Like Kamala, Sam Harris was raised by his mother after his parents divorced when he was a young child. Sam Harris also has two children like Kamala has two step children.
Sam Harris' most famous book is titled "The End of Faith".
KAMALA is an anagram for AMALAK (Amalek). Wikipedia says the word Amalek means "licking up blood". This takes us back to the Jezebel spirit that inhabits and possesses "Kamala Harris'" body. Jezebel died and dogs licked up her blood.
Harris/Walz initials are H.W.
H.W. (president 41) was the last US president to be elected after having been a vice president in the immediately preceding term
I lived in the United States for nine years during the 2000s. It was there that Jesus found my wife and me, and in 2008, He led us back to Ukraine, where we have lived ever since.
ReplyDeleteWhile in the U.S., I remember being invited to a Christian gathering in 2004, just before the election. People there were debating who to vote for. My friend, who had invited me, said it was better to vote for Democrats because they support the poor by taxing the rich, and Jesus often talked about helping the poor. Other conservative Christians argued in favor of voting for Bush, pointing to his stance against abortion. At the time, I wasn’t a believer and didn’t fully understand the debate. Interestingly, that Christian Democrat later invited us to his local church.
Now, after being a believer for 19 years and studying the Bible, I still don’t fully understand why Christians are so concerned with politics. My Bible says that our citizenship is in Heaven. The Word of God also calls us ambassadors for Christ, and as we know, ambassadors don’t generally participate in the elections of the countries they reside in. Some may point out that our passports identify us as citizens of the United States or Ukraine, and that’s true according to the flesh. However, if we’re fighting or arguing based on earthly identities, we’re not walking in the Spirit.
When Jesus walked on Earth, there was a corrupt king in Judah, and the Romans occupied His people’s country. Yet, He never encouraged the Jews to be politically motivated. Instead, He focused on winning souls for His Kingdom rather than trying to reform the nation’s morality through politics.
The same goes for the Apostle Paul. Politically, nothing changed in his time. An illegitimate king ruled Israel, and the Romans oppressed the people of God. Still, Paul encouraged believers to pray for rulers, acknowledging that they are servants of God. He didn’t say to pray only for rulers who oppose abortion or other specific issues. By comparison, today’s US presidential candidates might seem like “angels” next to the Roman emperors of the first century.
We should be grateful to the Lord that we live in countries where believers can still gather to worship Jesus freely, without fear of persecution. If you are a believer, remember that Christ Jesus is your King, you are a citizen of the Kingdom of God, and Heaven is your home.
@ Paul
DeleteWell said. And well done.
I have regretted choices in my life. Haven't we all? And I vote because people have worked and died to give us that right. But my heart is not ruled by it. My future is not determined by it. And I would rather speak to bigger things.
We don't have the luxury of letting our political behavior divide us. We can't allow our behavior to push others', because it will only push them in one direction . . . away. Real leadership is not pushing or pulling, but walking the correct path, providing education and example, and looking back for those who need assistance.
I apologize to everybody who thinks that I'm being combative or overly critical. Christians need more humility, today, and that's a big reason we're falling behind. The Gospel speaks louder than our votes and opinions ever will.
We are exactly where we are supposed to be right now. In this very moment. Accept that with grace and do your part as you feel called by the Holy Spirit.
Jeremy
Jeremy and Paul,
DeleteI'm profoundly thankful for your comments. I’ve followed Unsealed for years, and rarely participate in the comment section. I had pulled out my laptop to make a heartfelt reply after reading the article, but was hoping someone else had already captured the essence of my feelings. You both did. Thank you for your thoughtful, Spirit-led remarks.
I want to emphasize for the benefit of those Christians who are walking with the LORD - follow His Spirit’s leading, and His alone. Is He leading you to vote? Then vote. Is He leading you to abstain? Then abstain. Your following Him, especially in the midst of dissenting voices, is an act of faith that pleases Him... and far more important than anything else.
Others may give you reasonable, logical, good, and legitimate reasons to follow a certain path. But if that path contradicts His Spirit’s leading, bring it back to Him for scrutiny, and wait for Him to make it clear to you.
Amen, Paul, amen.
DeleteOne question: Has the majority EVER been right? I pray. It's the only Dominion machine I trust.
ReplyDeleteGreg Lauer's article is timely and our Brother is correct in believing "America is coming under God's judgment, and America's fall is inevitable, and that no one—including Trump—is going to be able to turn things around to the degree that many Trump supporters are envisioning (or are "proffuh-sighing")".
ReplyDeleteI do agree that there are many false prophets today who are telling people what they desperately want to hear. This is frustrating to those who ARE hearing from God about what is truly coming down the pike!
Greg wrote:
"God has already told us in His written Word what
we can expect to see happening in the end times,
and that the Church will escape the worst of it.
These things are happening now, they're getting
worse, and the Rapture is drawing excitingly close.
I'm sorry...but what else do you need to know?"
Yes, the Church will escape the worst of it BUT God has sent genuine warnings that the Church will BRIEFLY still be on Earth for some gnarly events before the Pre-Tribulation Rapture! That said, let me share with those of you who are interested about additional signs and other indicators connecting Donald Trump with the Last Trump of the Rapture that have us expectant that we are finally in the YEAR OF THE RAPTURE--5785:
The Star of Jacob’s Trouble, Trump, and the Year 5785
While re-reading my above article with NON-bleary eyes, I realized I forgot to insert this important part of Jonathan Cahn's prophecy to Trump, which I just added [in brackets]:
Delete“Mr. President, I speak of the mystery of your life,” Cahn said to Trump. “You were born on June 14, 1946. From ages past it was appointed that on that day a Scripture would be recited throughout the world. [The scripture that was appointed for the day of your birth spoke of the bringing of God's vessel a trumpet into the world.]”
As the article states, 1946 was the year the "Star of Jacob's Trouble" last exploded—the year when Jewish refugees from Europe were first allowed to return to their homeland!
. . . In 1946 T Coronae Borealis—also called the Blaze Star—announced the coming birth of the Fig Tree Generation. Will this star burst into brilliance once again in 2024 to announce the coming Tribulation, Jacob’s Trouble, when the Jews’ rightful homeland and Holy Capitol are torn away from them by way of the Two-State Solution?

ReplyDeleteDear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
ReplyDeleteMy country, Switzerland, is as corrupt as all the others, if not more so.
Most of our Leaders seem to me to be both idiots and wicked.
And yes, as Paul says (both the Apostle and our Ukrainian Brother above who reminds us) "Let us pray for our Leaders".
And I pray.
And I see no "improvements".
But hey, God is Perfect, Almighty and Perfect and He alone hears our prayers and knows their (good) consequences.
We will know them too, one day.
I vote here in Switzerland... without illusions that it can improve anything: "All corrupt (like us, in a way?), all rotten (not like us?)".
From here, we observe, from afar, the events of the World: not pretty-pretty... but let us remain in Hope (and "Pray without ceasing" as God asks us... through Paul ;-)
With a Cameroonian friend we observe and comment: The two candidates of this year have received a nickname: Plague and Cholera !
And who receives the nickname of "Plague" ? And the one that of "Cholera" ?
We don't know, but we had already given these nicknames to the 2 candidates of 2016... that we could have called "The compulsive cheater/liar" respectively The crazy criminal".
But God also told us "You shall not judge" and we continued to pray.
Brotherly friendships
There was no "respite" with Noah. There was no "respite" with Lot. Sodom Babylon USA has a whispering corpse in the White House which is a GREAT sign of what God thinks about Sodom Babylon USA. I ONLY pray HIS KINGDOM COME & NOT looking for a "respite." That said I find myself so at odds with people looking for a "respite," I am only consoled with the expectation of eternity so enormous that I will NEVER have to endure the company of people looking for that absurd (given the character of both candidates/parties) election "respite" for Sodom Babylon USA & NOT share a table at the Lamb's table because any talk of "respites" for Sodom Babylon USA causes me a complete loss of apatite. In fact, what remorse would anyone have IF the Kamala Kreature was elected as an apt and most fitting VERY SOON end to Sodom Babylon USA?
ReplyDeleteEXPECT NO "RESPITE"! Tip of the Islam iceberg: Hezbollah and its illicit activities in Latin America reported below since 1980's & HOW we know BOTH parties allowed the hemisphere to become destabilized by Sodom Babylon USA:
ReplyDeleteHezbollah’s financial infrastructure in Latin America is built on illicit activities such as drug trafficking, counterfeiting, and smuggling. https://latinoamerica21.com/en/hezbollah-and-its-illicit-activities-in-latin-america/ Hezbollah, the Lebanese Shiite militant group, has maintained a presence in Latin America since the 1980s, using the region as a base for fundraising and terrorist operations. How do they operate, and how can this issue be addressed? Hezbollah’s financial infrastructure in Latin America is built on illicit activities such as drug trafficking, counterfeiting, and smuggling. These activities generate significant income and provide a means for money laundering. At the same time, the group integrates into legitimate economic sectors, using front companies and business associations to conceal its illegal operations.
Terrorism specialist Emanuele Ottolenghi, senior fellow at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, states that “Hezbollah’s presence in the region has been facilitated by the Lebanese diaspora, which provides a network of cultural and financial support.” Regions like the Tri-Border Area between Argentina, Brazil, and Paraguay have become hotspots for Hezbollah’s activity, with direct consequences for the security of these countries. To strengthen its financial networks, Hezbollah has also established links with Mexican drug cartels and local terrorist groups like the FARC in Colombia, collaborations that facilitate the trafficking of drugs and weapons. They use already-established drug-trafficking routes in Latin America to transport cocaine and methamphetamine to Europe and the Middle East. The profits from these actions are incalculable for the organization."
Hezbollah in our neighborhood since 1980's? Really? And WHY? BECAUSE SODOM BABYLON USA has been fueling the drug trade with massive amounts of dollars since the 1960's! USA created sex trafficking drug trafficking cartels feeding them massive amounts of money to feed their drug lust. SUCH PEOPLE DO NOT DESERVE A "RESPITE" but may deserve its last & final president be he, a self loving money loving man of pride or she, a woman of derangement. JESUS WROTE OF PHARMAKEIA/SOCERERY in REV !:8 "Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. 3 For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.
ReplyDelete4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.
5 For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.
6 Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double.
7 How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow.
8 Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her.
9 And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning,
10 Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come.
Thank you for your excellent writing, Greg. I work at the election poll. We are not voting for who is a Christian but who will reserve our right and freedom as Christians to worship, raise our children and make decisions for them, true free speech and so much more. Sadly, 30 million Christians didn't vote in the last election and it it was 'lost' (fake lost) by 42, 000 votes.
ReplyDeleteNo matter what happens, God appoints the 'rulers' and I believe His judgement is coming. I liked your chart of Harris vs Trump winning with the rapture.
Wow, lots of comments on this. My 2 cents is that I think voting is important based on the command that we be salt (preserving our world from the corruption and decay of sin as much as we can). We vote with the hope that we push our "saltiness" out into the world.
ReplyDeleteAnd, it shouldn't just be about a single position at the top. We should be looking at all levels of opportunity in the elections. Pay attention to the Senators, the school boards, the mayor's, the Judges... And pray for God to guide us where we don't otherwise know what to do.
Was an excellent article Greg...
ReplyDeleteI see voting as part of Paul's mandate in Romans 13 to respecting the governing authority in the country you sojourn in. Since in the USA, the way it supposed to be as a republic, is "government by consent of the governed". This consent requires voting.
Now granted, the USA has severely lost her way, and much of this government is corrupt beyond all imagination. Will I let this interfere with my heart felt obligation? Nope.
I'm not a fan boy of Trump, I'm not a MAGA cultist. I don't see Trump as a messiah, I already know the One in whom I am Redeemed. I will not vote Kamala at all, and the reasons should be very self-explanatory.
While I resent the "Deal of the Century" two-state (Zech 12 dilemma) solution, and the Abraham Accords (One-world Religion), and the fast track of the Covid Vaxx which are all hallmarks among others, of Trump's first presidency, I also understand Prophecy, and that what is written will come to pass as written. I also understand that God places leaders and takes them down also.
I've come to realize my vote as a little part of His larger will for the USA.
I've also come to realize the last 7 years notice for the USA in terms of the Aleph-Tav eclipses. Very remindful of Ninevah and Jonah and their eclipse.
Like Ninevah, I do think there is a possibility for a respite, before the final downfall of the USA which I believe is covered in Jer 50 & 51.
Am I certain of this? No.
I do know that I must try, for the sake of this country, for the sake of what I believe, for the sake of that one-more for the Gospel, to add my voice, and make a choice.
Standing back, and staying silent, is not an option.
We are supposed to do all to stand, and having done so, Stand Firm then...
A Pin-point: The general election in the United States is 2,600 days since the Revelation 12 Sign.
ReplyDeleteJESUS 2024
thank you! I can't believe the ideas of some of these people commenting!! The things you are talking about are obvious! It's plain and simple! It's so black and white! We either choose, and vote for, good or evil, the person who supports good (even though he himself is obviously imperfect, he is not applying to be a pastor) or the person who stands shoulder to shoulder with the demonic One world government people. Bless you for your understanding and speaking out! Perhaps even among the unsealed readers this is a revealing of the true nature of hearts! surprising!!
ReplyDeleteNo one expects the President to be a pastor in this day and age. It's not like the group of original Founding Fathers, anymore, of whom a majority had some education at the seminary level.
Delete(I just visited Valley Forge. Loved it! Running my hand up the original bannister was pretty awesome. General Washington's office was right next to the handrail, and over the course of 6 months or so of cold winter weather, I have to believe that Lafayette, Baron von Steuben, James Monroe, Alexander Hamilton, "Mad" Anthony Wayne, and many others were holding that same piece of wood while contemplating their survival and goals. There was no "voting" yet. But George did do a fair amount of praying in those days, and I'd feel better if Trump would try it on for size.)
But anyway . . . no one expects a Christian to vote against his or her conscience. Pray about it, seek the will of the Holy Spirit, and do what you gotta do. Yes, even talk about, and tell everyone all about your opinions and line of thought . . . but a dose of humility goes a long way.
Especially if you want to be an example of Christian leadership. That is a higher hurdle.
Maybe next time we can just stick to a nice breakdown of the candidates and the issues, and we can write articles and comments that treat everyone with respect.
Did I just take the article too personally? If so, I apologize. I mostly agree with Greg on the issues. I commend him for writing the article and caring enough to try. I just don't see the value of using a demeaning tone or dad voice. Not one person wants to be told what to think or who to vote for. Do you? Be honest.
We all want access to the truth. We all want information and insight. We all want opinions, sure. But we need to be careful not to cross that line between spurring the horse on in good faith and goading it on to get our own desired result at the horse's expense. One encourages good citizenship. The other is divisive and self-defeating. Upsetting the horse cannot help you.
I think I have a pretty thick skin, to be honest, and it was never my intent to cause a separation here, but the sense of desperation in this article does not become us. You do know that Jesus is coming back soon, right? You do know that He already won this, right? So, what's the deal with everyone trying to push everyone else around on the voting scene? Is America your focus, still? That just seems awfully narrow to me.
I think we should be better than that, given everything we know. Go ahead and vote Trump if you think that's the only call, but the world does NOT need Trump. It needs Jesus. And until the Rapture, it needs you to stand in your armor. It's supposed to get ugly for a while, remember. So what? Bring it on.
War, death, plague, famine? Cancer, abortion, hatred, greed, PRIDE, vanity? Patriotism?
They have absolutely nothing on my Lord and Savior. This country is too far gone to be occupying our minds this much. Jesus wasn't worrying about the popular vote in His day. What would He be telling us right now, I wonder. "Drop that stuff and follow me," I think.

ReplyDeleteSadly, since I reside in the People’s Republic of Maryland, a State even Ronaldus Magnus COULD NOT carry, voting for DJT is, for all intents and purposes, voting for the simpering hyena anyway. The dems have a stranglehold on this swamp.
ReplyDelete
